Not a big deal, most likely a way to get people to enter their contact info.

Also, one of the many Ford dealers I called has called me back and they have one available. I thought his message said it was orange. Camelback Ford in Arizona.

I actually saw that a few days ago. I was going to message you about it but it slipped my mind.

I think a lot of those system are automated and you can sort of spot when the truck is not there yet or in this case not really even available if it were, by the use of computer generated stock photos .

Now if they had real photos take at the actual dealership then that is when I would get a little concerned. I think in this case as it was with many of the trucks I called on the Dealers system just sees invintory they were invoiced for and generates an automatic listing on their website. Someone has to then manually catch that it is a sold order and take it off.

The truck I bought was showing up on the dealer website and after I put a deposit on it, the dealer manually removed it from there advertised inventory. So, I know it can be removed, if they are made aware of it.

You nailed it! I’ve worked in the business for 30 years, though, and have never had or seen a situation where orders are taking over 11 months with no communication.

TY Craneop1972 and ccc1999. I had heard that Ford automatically posted vehicles, and dealers don't have editing options.

I put $1,000 down on it to hold it for me, then they gave me the info I needed to order what I wanted.

I paid 5k markup, but my reasoning is that it's still much cheaper than an F-150 Raptor, and I believe the RR value is only going to go up because of lack of vehicle availability.

There was on dealer that showed a SOLD RR for $128,000. Probably some rich kid that got excited and handed over Dad's credit card :p

The crazy part about the markups is, I ordered mine at MSRP in October, sometime in November I decided to call 2 other small town dealers in my area. Neither of them even knew about the Ranger Raptor and both were at MSRP and sold for MSRP, I think once these dealers saw the demand rise they saw an opportunity. Because growing up in the area Markups were never done. Even during COVID.
The dealership I use currently has an open allocation for a F150 Raptor R and nobody wants it, or I should say nobody knows.
The small town dealers are the way to go.
Hopefully I’ll get to see you when your truck does show up. I’m 36 miles from your dealership.

My truck is also listed on the dealers website, but like others have said it doesn't have real pictures yet and it's surely automated.

I'll start bothering them once mine finally shows "Built" and see if it can get hidden or not.

Interestingly, mine is not listed and it's in transit. Tracker just shows built and dealer texted yesterday saying it's close. Sitting in railyard waiting for convoy. And I've been checking the dealer site constantly out of curiosity.

I know one of the well known Ford dealers that sells at MSRP did something like that, but they only priced it that high in their system so people would stop calling about it since it was already reserved/sold.

Mine is still on the dealer's site. Hopefully they aren't paying a game, but they said they have (and still have) a lot of inquiries. I still get tons of emails and text and some calls from dealers from my 3-day attempt to secure an allocation. Most are trying to see if I'm still interested in a vehicle - some emails seem to be automated, so I am obviously on some marketing lists.
They have now switched me to the "A" team salesperson (not trashing the original salesperson - she was helpful). The previous person was who was handling internet sales.

I do understand that even though I have a confirmed vehicle allocation from the dealer and confirmed pricing, it is not really mine until the paperwork is done. I think I would go nuts if they were -playing a game.

My small town dealer's been great, I have no reason to think anything is amiss, but I'll admit I WILL go nuts if I waited a year and a half for nothing.

I would LOVE to get pictures of both trucks side-by-side, and bounce some ideas off of you. I'm pretty sure they will be arriving at the same time because they were "built" within 2 days of each other, show the same ramp, and Rail, and destination is so close to each other.

One way we can combat dealers that are charging ADMs is to waste their time. When I bought my GT350, I ran across several of them that wanted anywhere from $5k to $15k over MSRP. At first, I just hung up on them when they told me. But then, I started giving them my information pretending I was interested. They would call back, and I would tell them I'm still thinking about it, but I would ask them some questions, etc., Then they would call again a day or two later, and I would tell them I'm interested, but checking with my bank, wife, etc... If they think you're serious, they will spend a serious amount of time trying to close the deal. It's kind of like messing with telemarketers.

If everyone on this forum did that to a couple of dealers charging ADMs, it would make a pretty decent impact to the amount of time they waste on false sales leads. Would it stop them? Probably not, but if they're going to charge someone more than MSRP, make 'em earn it! :D
