I purchased a brand new, base XL Ranger trim in august of 2024. I absolutely LOVE my truck so far.
The only upgrades it came with was the 4x4 and rear diff lockers, everything else was bone stock.

I have a long way to go and much more I plan to do but here’s my progress so far.

everybody, meet Rex.
named after Metal Gear Rex.

-3.5 inch rough country lift kit (this is temporary as I plan to replace it with a FOX or Bilstein coil over, but I am still researching options/fitment, but so far I’m very impressed with the ride quality and stance.

-20% window tint all around minus windshield.

-blackout ford emblems

-removed flimsy black plastic wind guard below front bumper

-17 x 8.5 Black Rhino Warthog @ Zero offset

-33 x 12.5 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT (285 70 17)

What's your goal? I'm not asking about accessories or modifications, but what you need to do with the truck that it can't currently do or do as well as you'd like.

I'm asking out of curiosity. Whether you're interested in looks or specific functions, it's your money and your business.

Great question!

my personal motivation for my truck and its purpose is:
-preparedness for natural disasters, I live in Florida and the hurricanes last year were devastating. having a truck with some additional ground clearance is important to me because of the flooding in my area.
-hit some light off road trails for fun and adventure
-road trip rig
-personal style tastes.
I guess the biggest functional difference would be the additional ground clearance, and the traction I can get with this set of tires is far better than before. This will get even better after I install a bull bar with a better approach angle, some armor, and a winch.

How does it ride being you have 68 pounds of rubber in all four corners? I was debating on the LT for the 3ply construction, but thought otherwise when I choose the non LT in the 265/70/17 and its weight of 44 pounds. I am happy with my choice, just wondering how it feels and if the ride is rough. Do you use 30psi?

Good question.
It feels amazing. The ride quality, road feel, turning, cornering etc.. all feels great.
The total weight of the truck is over 4,400 pounds so 20 additional pounds per tire is not really a noticeable difference.

I’d say the most noticeable difference is more ride height, more grip, and a tiny bit more rolling resistance but that’s always to be expected with more aggressive tire tread/weight in general.
I ride around 30-35 psi on the road and 18-20 off road.

The extra strength of the ply was one of my primary reasons for this tire choice, that is very important to me.

Thanks man I appreciate it! I love these wheels, the Black Rhino Warthog is my favorite model, and they look like the wheels from the Harthog in Halo so I just had to make master chief proud and choose them lol.
