Reading the comments from TFL walk around the major complaints are pretty much what I expected. Price, no sunroof option, rear hvac removed and no 60/40 split on rear bench. Can't wait to see full drive impressions.

Raptor is going to come in less expensive that the Tacoma Trailhunter, so…whatever. And the TRD Pro is similar intent, but ultimately not the same level of capability. So price complaint is academic.

I’m happy there’s no moonroof because, as others have said, it’ll leak eventually and yes, the F150 moonroof replacement is actually $3,000 (friend went through it).

The rear HVAC is meh. Sure it’s annoying but crank the A/C and the back seat will get cool enough fast enough. My Rottweiler will be fine, combined with tinted windows. I don’t care about the people in the back seat

60/40 bench would be nice, and I like that feature in my Ridgeline…but I won’t miss the few times it came in handy from a space perspective.

I know in the tfl video the chief engineer said they would probably offer a sunroof in the future if there was enough feedback. So my guess is midcycle refresh will probably offer sunroof, rear hvac as updates. As others said not huge deals, but if you wanna go after Toyota sales you better offer everything.

Disagree. At some point we’ll be able to do window sticker comparisons, and the wider auto journalists will do as well…we already know the Ranger backseat is taller, wider and has more leg room than the Tacoma…so it’s up to the buyer as to what’s more important…space or rear HVAC? You don’t need to match your competitors feature-for-feature…but BEAT them on what you do offer.

Tacoma has cache & tenure, but it isn’t infallible. Raptor already beats Toyota’s best offering on performance and dollar value. I’d wager the number of buyers lost to a moonroof & hvac will be negligible; that customer was probably going to buy the Tacoma anyway. Automotive sales tend to skew more loyalty, typically. Ranger will probably grab more F150 & Maverick sales, then GM twins & Frontier, before it will take Tacoma sales.

Do we know whether or not they have underseat vents? My other Ford vehicles do so maybe these do as well???

While it's nice we get a rear window that opens, I also kinda think it's become pointless. I'm not reaching through it to grab stuff in the bed, so why have it in a crew cab truck? I'd much rather have rear seat air vents.

No 60/40 rear spilt is a big disappointment. It's an extremely useful feature, so leaving it out of the Ranger doesn't make a lot of sense here. It's why I skipped the 5G Ranger. I no longer need 60/40 like I did when the kiddo was younger, but I'd still rather have it than not.

I would say both. Every other vehicle that has them does both. Now you won't get a whole lot but you will get some.

Not arguing against the rear seat vents. I do really like having powered rear glass though as I tend to end up using that window as the wind resonance buffer when I have the driver window open. At least from past full size experience - seems to keep things calmer in the cab, than another side window being open. I do wish it was a little bigger on the Ranger though, that thing is tiny.

keep in mind that no manufactures warranty ty covers broken glass including sunroofs.

No there is no rear under seat vents on the Ranger. Yeah they can keep the rear siding glass it just something that could leak. The rear vents are on the EU and Aussie Ranger so what gives. Also why delete the grab handles in the rear surely they do not cost that much. The grab handles would make getting in the truck allot easier. Way to think about your North American customer, I mean your US and Candian customer Ford. Oh on a good note my Raptor Ranger has a build date of April so thats something good.
