So It arrived today, I can confirm that part number is the entire assembly, so It looks like I'll just have to pop off the entire passenger dashboard face and pop this one on. Also it looks like the "leather" face would pop off and the honeycomb from the XLT could take its place on the glove box if one wanted. I'm gonna worry about getting it installed first before I mess with anything that's cosmetic first. If it looks fine with the leather on one side then great

Looks like it's for an led light strip on the shelf. I'm curious if our XLT have the wiring for it built in already

Me too! ( but likely would not do it if the leather trim can’t be swapped out)
Planning on swapping the leather trim out for the xlt trim on the truck. I looked and theres seperate part numbers on both
Did I find the right part , its 56.00 is that right for the complete enclosure. Ford oem online

That's it, and same as what i paid through Tasca. Complete assembly as shown in the pictures I posted when it arrived

So, 2 things about this, first, is the plastic the same color? Hard to tell from the picture.
second, I asked a friend who has had his lariat since last April to take a picture of his upper glove compartment both opened and closed. He didn’t know he even had an upper glove compartment!🤣🤣

UPDATE:TOP BOX INSTALLED

So I installed the top box today. Fits perfectly into the XLT dashboard. I'll post the steps i took and some advice for anyone else wanting to do it. But first a couple things.
1. The gray trim is an exact color match for what's on the dash in our XLT.
2.The vent on the Lariat peice is also a match for the vents in the XLT.
3.The leather trim dash peice is plastic welded on and I don't beleive the xlt trim could be swapped without significant modification.
4.There is not(at least that i could see) the wiring for the LED light on the shelf built into the XLT

So here's the steps I took.

1.Remove the plastic honeycomb panel from the dash (hopefully without breaking as many of the clips as I did whoops)

2. There are 4, 7mm bolts along the top of the assembly that have to be removed in order to remove the assembly.

3.Pull out the entire assembly, which is suprisingly easier than pulling out the trim peice. I pulled from the shelf initially then pushed the tabs on the outer side of the vent in and finally pulled the top part out.

This leaves the empty space where the glove box is going to be.

4.carefully line up all the holes in the dash with the poles sticking out of the glove box assembly. Push in all the tabs until it's fully seated.

5. reinstall the two center bolts to the dash with the glove box open.

And the top glove box is installed!! Took me less than an hour with some nylon pry tools and a 7mm ratchet. The leather mix matched with the XLT plastic dash above the steering wheel doesn't particularly bother me and the leather and stitching on the box matches that on the door panels, but be aware of that if it will bother you.
