The problem I have with the Dynomotive solution is they chose to mount the strut really far forward in the engine bay and low on the hood. Makes access over quarter panels/side of engine bay problematic and they are always in the way. The Redline is better for me since it mounts closer to the cab on the low side and maintains the overall length up the hood.I’m running the hood strut kit from Dynomotive; no flex, smooth open and close, good all the way around.![]()
I can not just drop it to close I have to give it help with my hand from top of hood if that makes sense.Any issues with closing the hood? Better than before?
Agreed. I saw the kit from the other company and much prefer the system from Redline Tuning as it has many advantages:The problem I have with the Dynomotive solution is they chose to mount the strut really far forward in the engine bay and low on the hood. Yes, it's made to work with the Aluminum hood. I saw the kit from the other company and much prefer the system from Redline Tuning as it has many advantages:Do they take into account the lightweight aluminum hood? So it doesnt bend when trying to close the hood?
Excellent response. I think you sold me!(What is the difference between the two options?)Yes, it's made to work with the Aluminum hood. I saw the kit from the other company and much prefer the system from Redline Tuning as it has many advantages:
1) Better geometry for lifting the hood. Simple physics (lever arm) tell you the further you are from the pivot point the easier it is to lift. So the hood does NOT flex as with the other kit.

2) The other products require you to loosen the hinge bolts on your hood for the brackets, damaging the OEM paint on the nuts and possibly changing the factory alignment.
3) I have had Redline Tuning struts on my 2013 Mustang for over 10 years with zero issues.
I emailed them and they responded:Excellent response. I think you sold me!(What is the difference between the two options?)
Thanks for sharing that. Im struggling to confirm with my wallet that I need this. I havent had any problem working on the engine using the prop yet.I emailed them and they responded:
QuickLIFT PLUS:
Black gas springs
4 Year warranty
QuickLIFT ELITE:
Stainless Steel gas springs
5 Year warranty
Both function the same.
I chose the PLUS version as it looks the most OEM.
