How much would aftermarket seats cost?

Odd the seats are designed differently. I’m not exactly sure what bothers me but it’s possibly the most uncomfortable seat of any truck I have ever owned.
I had a 2015 F150 xlt and that truck had the worst seats i have ever had in a truck. Then I got a 2018 F150 Lariat 502A package with leather seats and i absolutely loved those seats.

I measured the XLT and Lariat seats ant the XLTs are over an inch narrower than the Lariat. In between the bolsters and outside. Its not just leather vs cloth.
That’s good to know. The seats are bad enough for me that I could imagine swapping out of this truck sooner than I normally would. Maybe the Lariat would be an option.

Go test drive a Lariat. The only other thing I can think of is going to a upholstery shop and see what they can do. They can change the foam to a more comfortable foam and leave the factory cloth.

I have called a few local upholstery shops and they were not much help.

If I was in your shoes I would go to the upholstery shop, show them what's going on and ask how much to put new better foam in and if I could afford it have CatSkin leather done. That's what I would do. I definitely would not look to trade the truck in for a Lariat yet because that's going to cost. You can try doing a warranty claim. Hope you get it worked out.

Good luck my friend. I know how you feel I absolutely love mine. I have only seen 2 other new Rangers here in Central Florida and neither were silver. I don't think i will see many in silver because Ford in their infinite wisdom dropped the silver for 2025 and replaced it with sand, so my next Ranger will probably be white.

I wish y’all luck on this! For the first time I experienced what I think are the worst seats in my current car & it’s been enough that I’m on here hoping a Ranger might be much better. What I had to do first for me, was visit a chiropractor. Nothing was in proper alignment for me so it was making things worse than they otherwise needed to be & was worthwhile.

Well the problem Iowa Ranger is having is not with all Rangers, i have the same truck and my seats are fine and also the Lariat has different seats and they are fine. I was told the problem is with the first batch of Rangers. So if you are interested in a new Ranger go test drive one both the XLT and Lariat. I went with a XLT because I didn't want the higher payment of the Lariat. I lease because I want a new truck every 3 years and buying one then trading it in in 3 years you take a beating unless you put a bunch of money down which i don't.

i notice this also. i also have a notoriously tight left hip. so it’s mostly that. (two tacoma and two rangers, same issue)
the issue of the “falling in hole” thing is noticeable. part of what i found is the back of the seat pad compresses too much into the springs, this also causes the bolster underneath to rip on the left side. the pad is just alittle too thin, dealer agreed it was a design flaw and she said she expects more of these to pop up.
dealer solution was to add 1” of denser foam underneath to add thickness to the area, so it wasn’t compressing as bad. it definitely has more support now, and the seat doesn’t look like it’s got a pillow shoved under it. i notice it a tiny bit, but i also notice everything.
this is why the passenger side feels better, it’s got the airbag sensor mat in there to add some body to it.
so basically some foam needs to be added under the springs. i may rework mine a bit, but i want to see how it goes. i’ll grab a photo tonight.
funny thing was i just wanted my pad replaced, i didn’t want extra foam added or anything.
next is more yoga to loosen my ass back up, literally. piriformis syndrome is a pain.

This is great info. Did you add that foam yourself or did the dealership do it?

dealer did it. but i think they are on the right track…
Taking my truck in Friday for multiple unrelated issues so I’ll bring it up. Passenger seat is definitely better. I brought it up before and they were no help. I think Ford needs a recall on these seats.

do you have tight hips? that tends to make it way more noticeable. after doing a few sets of deadlifts and all warmed up- seats are not bad. good way to see exactly what’s tight

I'm a runner so almost everything is constantly tight. I see a very good Chiropractor that also does soft tissue work and that is not helping me much. IDK it's really starting to piss me off.
