I paid $2,500 over MSRP for a 2025 Ranger Raptor I ordered, did I pay too much?

There's a dealer in my area putting $5000 "market adjustment" charges on their Raptors, not including a "REQUIRED" thing they are calling a "Customer Value Package" that adds an additional $5000 to the price, a $1000 "dealer prep" charge, a $1000 electronic filing fee and $400 documentation fee. In other words they are throwing $12,400 in junk charges on top of everything else. Their 2024 Raptors have been sitting on their lots (multi-location dealer) since August of last year.

After searching for Raptors in my area and finding dealers charging $5,000 to $10,000 fees for online orders, I looked online at Carmax and had one shipped from Florida. I ended up paying 1,500 for shipping but got a 2004 Raptor Ranger with 5400 miles on it for just above MSRP. Raptor is mint and fully loaded, but I'm not sure. CarMax said 9/10 loaded. Just ordered the pro tune from Ford. This thing is amazing.

Location is such a big part. When I was buying mine for MSRP in New Jersey, buddy was saying they were getting $10K over sticker in Arizona. As far as the OP's question, I don't think paying a little extra for something you are going to love is a bad thing at all. I was prepared to pay up to $5K over as I really wanted one badly and I would have been just as thrilled with it at $63K as I am having paid sticker. Only "downside" so far is this weird and constant search for dirt roads, like scouring the area for service roads whenever I see large powerlines passing by roads I travel

Sounds like you did well.
I bought a new 2025 RR from a dealer in Minnesota, it was delivered this afternoon. The experience was incredible, no markups, no adds or any attempts for Finance to up sell me. With their discount and the $1100 shipping cost added back in I came in under MSRP.
It arrived with 12 miles on it, didn't get much time to drive it so far. Busy getting inspections, insurance and registration done. Can't wait to get some drive

Chuck Spaeth Ford in Sleepy Eye MN. They also have a dealership in New Ulm. My salesman Alex Lux was great, straight forward and honest. Dealership has honest discounted pricing without adds. Contact Alex and check what allocations they have left. Good luck
