Any chance someone can take an after picture of the fuses being tapped?

Yeah, following along but got confused on what your folks final solutions were and taps used.

So I think I got from this and the other threads
Model ranger - raptor and xlt
Constant power - micro 2 - #28
Switched power - micro3, #21/22

I think I got where you both ended up but not sure. Thanks for tracing everything and the time spent!!!!

I think that's the wrong question. It's more a question of good, better, best. I prefer a 4K camera with a Starvis 2 sensor to see better in low light and actually make out license plates. Then there is the question of where/how you want it installed. I like a Blendmount solution so any tint application is not disturbed. So to your question, "nothing"

If one was just going to install a front mounted camera, wouldn't something like these adapters work?

https://dongar.tech/collections/ada...ce.gte=&filter.v.price.lte=&filter.p.tag=Ford

Not sure which version till I can get a look at the mirror, but seems like a less invasive way to get power to a cam.
Probably so. That's why a lot of us were excited to see a USB plug on the ROW Rangers. Sadly the US version didn't get it. The only thing it would not work for is a camera with "Park Mode". Park mode requires battery and accessory power. The mirror only has accessory power.

Thanks. Park mode power makes sense.

Sorry I meant to ask you earlier.

What area of the micro 3 fuse tap did you need to shave down and what did you use?
Here's what the ones on amazon look like. It's only the 3 prong fuse that needs trimmed.

Ford Ranger Dash Cam Fuse Taps ori

The area you have to trim is shown below, both top (shown below) and bottom (not shown).

Ford Ranger Dash Cam Fuse Taps orig modified

End result has a cross section basically like this:

Ford Ranger Dash Cam Fuse Taps orig mod 2

The ends just need shaved off. Both top and bottom so you're trimming 4 areas total. I used a dremel; any rotary tool can be used to make it quick, just use a little finesse. A razor blade or file could be used too in a pinch. There might be some of these taps without those wings on the end but I didn't spend time looking. Couldn't find them at the auto parts store so resorted to Amazon for quick delivery.

Thank you as always. And did you use 30 amp fuses on #28 and 5 amp fuses on #21 #22?

Yeah my local hardware and automotive stores are striking out on the Micro III taps too.

Let me know if you need any other pictures.
Perfect thank you! Had to order up micro fuse taps as thats the only kind I didnt have. They should be arriving today or tomorrow then I can continue the install.

EDIT: Wait, theres a 3 prong fuse also? What the hell are with these goofy fuses??? Now I have to get a 3 prong tap too. This is annoying.

No problem!

I used the stock fuses in the factory locations (30A in #28 and 5A at #21 and 22), and I believe 5A for the tap positions. The dash cam only pulls around 2A if I remember correctly.

See pic for reference

Important to note orientation of the fuse taps matters. See the installation pics above, for the '24 Ranger, the fuse taps point up.

It gets worse with the trimming of the micro3 fuse tap lol. Yeah I know. You can probably use one of the micro2 slots as accessory but I didn't like the idea of tapping into what any of them were tied to. The fuse charts are not very informative on what the actual fuses are linked to, the labeling in the manual is terrible. If someone can find a better and easier solution I'll be grateful but this should work fine just with the added effort.
