i’ve been looking for bed bars for a while, and none of them take into consideration that our beds are way different than the 5th gen’s.

billie bars is aware and working on some things, so that’s good!

In the mean time. i’m doing my own thing.
the uk rangers have bed bars that go in the stake pockets, so that’s the route i’m going. i’ve seen some other people on here are thinking the same things so that’s awesome.

here is the mock up of the towers- they are low, like 4” off the top of the bed. and have backer plates on top and bottom of the physical bed rail. crossbar is 1530 extrusion at 66”, so it sits just outside the bed cap molding.

here is the rendering-

Great idea.
I’ve been on the hunt for an affordable bed bar/folding ladder rack but there are very few options.

would love the ability to carry a 15 foot ladder or kayak occasionally without a dedicated ladder rack bulky system

Nice work.

But I'm curious - why won't the Billie Bars work? They show on their site that they fit the 6th Gen Ranger.

if this works, i’ll probably design a taller version

the molding on the beds float on top and inside, so nothing to clamp to of actual substance.
on top- a spacer is needed to actually carry the load, and unfortunately that means there are only 3 spots bed bars/racks, can mount. unless it’s something like what kbvoodoo has, which is like a peice of zbar that runs the length of the bed rail. i have some other ideas to play with for that. like a peice of 1515 running the bed rail cap.

Good grief. Didn’t know all that, thanks. So we need bed reinforcement braces and mods to make a rack work. C’mon ford!

basically. braces under the bed, braces under the bed caps…they dropped the ball.

if these work they way i want, i might sell a few sets of towers. no crossbars, or hardware. just raw steel plates and towers.

That’s the same reason why my retrax pro Tonneau cover has a bracket on all four corners. The beds rails do not really support the cover the brackets do.

might have to open up the bottom holes some, but other than that, let’s see how it goes!

Very nice! I also anted to mount and dismount a rack for our paddle boards. I went with the roll top with tracks and T bolts.

Exactly what I’m looking for. Really cool. Can you share a order # or something that would allow sendcutsend to recreate it? Great job 👍
