I found very simply if you turn Wi-Fi on on your phone it will disconnect the CarPlay then just turn Wi-Fi off. The phone will automatically reconnect to the car and you will have sound.
wifi??? Don’t you mean Bluetooth lol.. but other than that… that’s another thing for me to check out next time it happens

No sir LOL, I absolutely mean Wi-Fi wireless CarPlay uses the Wi-Fi side of the iPhone. Once you turn Wi-Fi on it automatically disconnects CarPlay swipe down from the top right corner and click the Wi-Fi icon you will see a warning message telling you it will disconnect the CarPlay

Does anyone else have issues with their iPhone connecting to Apple CarPlay or is this just user error on my part? Like sometimes it works, and sometimes it won’t. Thanks in advance because this is getting annoying. Haha
It is NOT happening to everyone. Mine connects almost always automatically right where I left off in an audiobook, a Itunes playlist or the Pandora app on CarPlay, if not then which is most of the time, when I use Sync to connect it. Just lucky I guess.

My mind just went crazy just now as I read your post here after I got into my truck… when you said to turn it on… I was like wait a minute… turn it on.. but it’s off… .. I went and turn off the Bluetooth and my CarPlay stayed running… I was always under the assumption that it was still Bluetooth because I saw the WiFi is off on my end.. so that’s how I took it and figure it was some security measure or something that did not made since for WiFi to be disabled while connected to CarPlay…

Learn something new lol

So I don’t have my RR yet, BUT.. I have one of these for my 2022 Frontier (which doesn’t come with wireless CarPlay) and it works flawlessly almost 99% of the time.

I know it’s a pain to spend another $100 on something when your luxury truck shouldn’t have this issue but maybe a good fix for now until ford updates their system.
I have mine plugged into the usb port, tucked away where you can’t see it or the wire at all and have perfectly good wireless CarPlay on a truck that does not come with wireless CarPlay normally

on the off chance it does freeze or stop connecting, I just put my phone in air plane mode for a couple seconds (which disconnects the WiFi), then turn off air plane mode and it connects up fine

The thing about this is that this does not happen constantly… for me it happens like once or twice a week… and the easiest solutions to fix it on the fly is to reset the connection or reboot the infotainment system which both take like 15-30 seconds to resolve depending on what you decide to do… now if it was everytime we connect…. Then yeah just getting a cable and plugging it in is the easy solution but I don’t see the need to spend an extra $100 like you said just to connect it to CarPlay.
