Audio won't turn on

2024 Ranger XLT trim.

So I am driving talking to my daughter on the phone everything is good.

Run into a store and come back and my music wont play. I try turning the volume up and nothing happens. I try to play the radio and nothing happens. Weirdly I do get the sounds for all the dings and button touches I just can't play audio. I navigated to the settings and the audio settings are greyed out.

I tried to press the audio power button. I tried turning off the truck and back on. I tried disconnecting my phone from bluetooth but I can't even play the radio or satellite radio.

Anyone lose audio before and any tips on possible fixes?

Maybe check out this thread here where the OP disconnected the battery terminal for a few to reset the system.

Thank you. I actually found that thread a few minutes ago and it worked. I swear I did a search before I posted the question but that did not come up. Then later I found that thread searching Google. Weird. Appreciate you sharing, this forum has been super helpful.

I haven't had to do it with my 6g ranger yet. Had to do it a couple times on my 5g.

what was the fix?

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and it resets I guess. Worked for me. I guess I will keep a 10 mm socket in the truck from now on.

I have had luck turning off the engine and restarting.

I have a 24 Ranger Lariat and I had the exact thing happen to me. I just pushed the Sirius button on the display and the radio reconnected and I had sound. 1st time and hopefully the last.
