Does anyone know of an example of what type of deformity they were seeing on the hoods?

The only thing I have a gripe with on my RR is there appears to be two indentations next to the driver's side heat extractor on the hood. I didn't notice in when picking the truck up as it didn't really become visible until night driving. It is next to impossible to capture in pictures but now that I see it in front of me every day it kind of bugs me.

My build date appears to have been 3/1/24.

Same dents on my RR. Mid Feb build that was released at the end of March.

They bug me…..

If it is the black one from Vaughn, it was shipped 5/15 (last updated 5/28). And their website says it is on the lot (in stOck), while their other ranger is in transit. Kinda weird that delivery is estimated mid-June to July, though., on the tracker. I would expect it could be there by next week. Keep watching for "Final Prep". Did you try using the order number and VIN with Ford Chat to see if they have better info.
I do understand you are not exactly happy with the dealer customer service so far
Not happy at all. I'm calling around for a different one. Last couple of weeks they've been advertising "my" truck for $5k cheaper than they offered it to me for.

I've been tracking it since the beginning, and Ford Chat gave me the exact info that was on the tracker. And if it's "In Stock." why can't they produce any pictures of it?

I don't trust this truck because of all of the issues people have had, and the ones that continue to pop up, and the lack of trust Ford has generated by the absence of any communication or honesty,

Well mine was on my Iowa dealer's website almost up to delivery, posted with the same MSRP I paid for (before their internet sales small discount).
While I was a bit concerned, there was no reason for concern.
As long as you have a deposit and something in writing or email, I would not worry too much until there is cause for worry. If it shows shipped, once a day passes after you see final prep; if they don't contact you, then you should reach out to them. You could say something like, "My tracker shows final prep, did the RR arrive? I just want to make arrangements for travel to take possession of it."
Nothing stopping you from searching elsewhere, though. Again, good luck.

Add mine to the list. Same two shallow dings on the hood. Got in touch with my PDR guy to see if anything can be done. Build date 5/28. As said earlier, once you see it from the drivers position, you can't unsee it. I also think my steering wheel isn't top dead center either but it's just ever so slightly off and doesn't annoy me as bad as the hood dings. The steering wheel installer at the Michigan Assembly Plant must have a crooked eye ball...

Only hood issue I've seen on my Raptor is when passing oncoming, old-style semis at highway speeds on 2 lane highways. If you're both doing about 70, the wind resistance will cause the hood to appear to jump, as if it's unlatched. It's secure, but it'll scare you every time it happens.
Man this scared the hell out of me a few times on my drive back from purchasing mine. Starting to expect it now in the right conditions but it's unsettling for sure.

I have an appointment with my dealership/body shop on the 11th to look at the hood dimples. Thanks to everyone that commented that they also had similar/same dents. Hopefully they can get more info about the QC holds that went into place for the hood issues and can link these issues to that.

Add me to the list 5/22 Blend date.

The dimples exist on both side of the hood at the crease where the heat extractors are. One on each corner on the inner edge. Seems like the process of inserting the extractors is placing too much pressure on the hood causing it to dimple.

I showed it to my local dealer's body shop when I had the hood and front fascia panel over the front bumper realigned. Told them I want to wait and see what develops on this issue as repainting the panel after potential repairs is not something I wanted to jump right into. I also have the small paint chip on the drivers side above the tail light near the tailgate.

Love the truck, but the MAP is not on top of their QC game at all.

I have the two small barely visible flat spots on the drivers side inner side of the heat extractor raised body line on the hood. Deciding whether its worth it to pursue. You really can't see the imperfections unless you're sitting in the drivers seat. I have yet to see what my PDR guy can do with it. The whole front clip had PPF installed, so there's that to contend with too. Been too busy.

Like you, I love the pickup but just disappointed with this particular QC effort.

I had the body shop manager take a look at mine when I had it in to get the keypad programmed yesterday. He noticed that I actually did have dimples on the passenger side too and that the extractor on the driver side looked like it had gaps on the front. All in all, worse than I thought.

He said he has not heard about anything on the hoods but that it looked like it was a stamping issue. If he were to try and fix it he would have to sand down all the crease spots, build it back up, and repaint. He said a new hood would probably be better but he also knows there are no parts to get right now. He didn't have much more to report other than he's not confident @Ford Motor Company will do much about it. He did say that ff they ever did enact a recall, Ford would pay for PPF to be redone if it was applied.

Ran out of time when I was speaking to him so not really sure of next steps. If no one gets repairs done, I can't see how it would get on Ford's radar. My biggest concern is if it is related to the structural issues that caused so much QA hold and that the issue is actually getting worse over time. I looked at some earlier pictures and it looks like the front gap is there, but maybe not as bad as it is now.
