I still have yet to test mine to see whether disabling speed sign recognition worked. Let us know whether it works for you.
I will check and confirm that it works for me as well.

Thank you. I must have the sign recognition setting on.

I think that was it. Went in and removed sign recognition no more problem. Thank you.
I just went on the road to test the cruise control after disabling the speed sign recognition. I’m pleased to report the cruise control worked perfectly. I tried it at low speed (65 kmh or about 39mph) and higher speed (100 kmh or about 60 mph) - all fine. The adaptive cruise worked as well slowing when I got be hind a slower car and accelerating to my chosen setting when I changed lanes and passed. That said, it’s weird why ford would ever connect the two. I’m going to follow up with the dealership.

I felt the same way. When it first accelerated unexpectedly it freaked me out. Was happy when I found out how to fix it . But can't understand why Ford would set it to work that way.

I have had a 2024.50 Ranger Wildtrak since September and can report the same experiences. Also had another for a few months and loan cars from service department and all did same. Australian 100km signs being read as 110km and the car speeding up.

Interesting that my 2021.50 Ranger XLT Sport with Tech Pack which included adaptive cruise control and speed sign recognition never made an error. The speed sign recognition on the 2021 was not linked to the cruise control. It displayed the speed sign recognition speed on the instrument cluster and flashed if I was over tolerance (and beeped too, until I turned that off).

On the 2021 the speed sign recognition is so reliable that I considered it my best friend keeping track of signs I missed. It was so good I secretly looked forward to getting pulled over in the wrong zone.

“Do you know how fast you were going sir”
“Yep, I sure do.” (Heads up speedo plugged into OBD2 port and adjusted for true road speed)
“Do you know the speed limit here sir?”
“Yep. According to Ranger Tom here it was 60.”
“No sir, it was not.”
“Ranger Tom is never wrong, so unless that sign was hiding behind a truck or covered by a tree or laying down having a rest, it was 60. Let’s go for a little walk and check shall we?”

On the 2021 recognition and display took 2 to 3 second after passing the sign and in three years and 120,000km I think I saw one error and that was because signs on both sides were blocked by road work signs.

On the 2024 Wildtrak it’s the evil twin of Ranger Tom trying to get me into trouble as it accelerates out of road work zones, with a sinister laugh.
