Just doing a short errand, turned on the A/C, never got cold...it was warm out so I drove around for about 30 minutes, A/C on low, never blew air cooler than 90 degrees, all buttons turned on correctly, tried MAX A/C same result. Tried stopping and waiting a few minutes, same result. Pretty disappointed so far as gas mileage is way off what Ford claims...getting barely 15.5 in ECO. May not keep this truck unless things get better and fixed real quick.

Weird. I get 20.8 avg mpg in a 2.7 Lariat. As for the A/C, sometimes there are defects - but this should be covered under warranty.

Yeah, cant figure out why mileage is so lousy. I am not a lead foot at age 73. Ford now has my truck overnight, so far they cant figure out why the A/C is not cold and supposedly will need to bring in the "expert" tech tomorrow to see if there is a fix or walk them through the procedure.
Hate to think of my new truck being pulled apart in several areas of electronics, hope they can avoid digging into the dash anywhere. Just not fun waiting but hope for the best.

Ford had the truck for 2 days before they figured out it was a missing A/C belt....I had opened the hood and looked at the engine while running, serpentine belt spinning fine, but never noticed the missing belt way down below where the A/C is. They actually had to call an "expert" as nobody at Huntington Beach Ford took the time to look harder at the problem. So lame. The printout even showed they did an evac and re-pressure on the whole system. Great. Maybe the next guy this happens to will tell the mechanics to look for missing belts....lol

Calling in a expert sounds like a dealer trick to mollify the customer. The dealer probably assigns an a/c certified tech to work on these issues, and they were either busy with other tickets or were off lol. The vehicle probably sat for a day before anyone looked at it. There is a repair protocol that the techs follow, and I would wager that the evac / re-pressurize is part of it. My question is did the belt fail and why did it fail - and was it ever installed from the factory?

Yes, it was all working until it didnt. My guess is the belt was not aligned properly at factory, or was a faulty belt, I never heard it fly off but always have the radio on. Just a weird thing.
