Heated steering wheel stopped working

I have had issues with my heated steering wheel as well. It worked once while I was on my joy cruise back home with the truck from the dealership after driving it off the lot! I have had the truck for less than 2 weeks and since we've seen snow and the steering wheel heater refuses to work. I have attempted to get it working multiple ways thinking that a remote start may give it appropriate time to start up and be plenty warm by the time I got in, unfortunately this was not the case. I'd love to hear any solutions others discover!

Take it to the dealership. They can run diagnostics on it and then likely you will also be put in line for a new wheel. It’s not as simple as a blown fuse I was told. My appt took less than 90 minutes so IMO that should be on your list.

Update on my steering wheel heater not working.

Since my first post I had Ford PM me to get my details. Great experience with the customer service rep. I was updated on my open ticket about every other week. In fact, the dealership called me saying Ford corp contacted them on my behalf and now the dealership was also giving me bi-weekly updates . The ETA was late November. That slipped to mid December... that slipped to EOM December... that slipped until last Friday when they said the part finally arrived.

During the month of December a Ford representative contacted me apologizing for the delay and offered to pay one month's car payment. I told them the truck is paid for... so that will not really help. He asked for proof of ownership (which I sent him a pic of the title) and said they/Ford will be mailing me a $500 Visa debit card. I still have yet to receive that... but the offer was more than I was expecting. Granted... the card has yet to be received and it's been 3 weeks (granted two holidays in that time period).

And no... my steering wheel heater is not fixed. They believe it's now the steering wheel control module and you guessed it... it's on back order with no ETA. Which led me to ask the steering wheel heater and now the steering wheel control module might be clues to yet another part that has yet to be found. I will add other than the wheel heater...I've not experienced anything else wrong with the truck. But the steering wheel control module does much more than simply operating the wheel heater.

He/service manager suggested contacting the Ford customer rep I've been working with to ask for a Ford ESP.

So long story short. Steering wheel heater sill not working and will likely be a few more months for the next device to be delivered and installed (and hoping that fixes it).


oh... and it's a shame @Ford decided to stop monitoring this forum.
