Purchased a used 2024 FX4 with about 270 miles a couple weeks ago. No complaints yet. Only thing that has me concerned is a slight hesitation it has when shifting from 4th gear to 5th while everything is still cold. It seems to hang up and you can feel the complete loss of power for about a second before it re-engages back in to gear. Once warmed up it shifts perfectly fine. Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi Nick! I can look into your Ranger's shifting concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Ranger's VIN?

Now you know why it got traded in. I do not think there is a magic bullet fix that does not involve working the warranty process with the dealership. That is about all the FMC account above is going to help you with.

I gotcha. It had about 270 miles on it. Honestly other than that it's a great truck so far. The shifting thing isn't even that big of a problem but I was hoping to see if anyone else was experiencing the same thing.

Does it do it on every cold transmission fluid event? Almost sounds like a low fluid issue as the fluid will expand once warmed up.

I am at 4K miles now, but the first 1K miles or so, I had about 3 or 4 weird clunks and slammed shift events. Last 3K miles has been without event.

Yes, only on cold shift events, specifically shifting from 4th to 5th gear. I'll have to check the fluid level.

So i just checked the transmission fluid with everything at operating temp and the engine running. Looks to me like it's low on transmission fluid?

Attached is level check procedures. Level between 3 and 4 at temp is good. Yours looks low.
Jeez, and there's no leaks to be seen so this had to leave the factory this way. I'll be sure to get a couple quarts and top it off.
