Would be interesting to see some pulls by an owner before and after.

I don't know what you're looking at, but NO, my air intake it is NOT in the engine compartment.
It’s under the hood isn’t it………
LOL we just want to know when the part would be available. I have access to a Dyno so if and when I get one I will test it myself. The Dyno info is very helpful to see before and after changes. its SAE corrected to help give an even baseline other wise dont use . Its independent from the maker and only concludes information on the auto tested. Saying that its still very exact in the information you obtain. A friend and myself bought 2 hellcats 1 week apart and when we dyno tested them the same day ,they were with in 4 Hp from each either and dyno runs were only 4 HP apart after multiple runs some with in 1 HP. YMMV
Now, try it at a higher altitude, which produces different air density…….it will be miles apart from where you are in Texas.🇺🇸

Yes, the air filter box is under the hood, but the air intake draws cold air from in front of the radiators, not from inside the engine compartment.

Over the top of the radiator shroud under the hood, not in front of it. I can post a photo if needed.

I actuality, its a poorly designed intake funnel, not lending itself to greater inflow.🇺🇸

I think most vehicles have a factory cold air intake since the 80s. Normally just a tube that pulls from somewhere next the radiator, or from inside the fender.

On a bunch of manufacturer factory cai, you could take a reducer out of the air filter box, or some had a trumpet looking deal to direct air flow, but either way, they could be removed for more air to flow through.

And some people just added some more holes in the air filter box, ha ha ha. Just drilled a bunch of holes to suck in whatever

The factory air intake system has to do more than flow air... it has to contain noise... just as much an EPA issue as exhaust noise. An intake can REALLY howl.

That’s right ………… with an aftermarket they do not. OEM intakes use an, Air intake resonator and expansion chamber to keep noise at acceptable limits or within EPA noise emission standards. Thus the OEM Intake do not have the most to efficient flow design.🇺🇸

Has anyone actually installed the Velossatech? They claim a gain of 2mpg. Would be nice to offset the loss I expect from lift and tires

If you get any increase in HP that would be great but I would tell you there is NO increase in MPG with any of these CAI. The equation is more air + more fuel gives you more power. So if you get more air in, the system will add more fuel , no increase in fuel efficiency.

Does anyone have intake air temperature readings to compare a CAI to stock?

The stock air inlets have weather trim(hood side) around the inlet, thus providing some separation of the inlet air from the engine compartment. Seems like the stock intake is close to a CAI without being a ram air intake to me.

I think I recall that the air box uses screws to secure the top and lower half, is that right? Certainly, a slower process to change the filter, if so.

Spend your $$$ on whatever floats your boat. 👍

I agree this system is good, it may not be the best flowing but reasonably cold air extraction. part of the CAI is better flow and better filter with possibly a better box. but that's what we are waiting on is someones final product. PS the CAI do look good to. Like the Ranger setup hopefully ours will be similar.
