Here is the setup. Drive it off the lot this AM. Brought it home and had the new tire setup waiting.

Toyo AT3 285/75/R17 (34”)
KMC Hatchet 17 +25mm

Crash bars had to be cut, cab side pinch weld was flattened.

In the photos attached is showing the difference in stance from stock (driver side photo) to my setup (passenger side).

Order a TPMS Kit from Ford and reprogrammed those 2hr install time.

Many more things to come!

Worst A/T tire I’ve personally ever owned.
Same road noise and similar ride quality to the BFG’s & Goodyear’s.
Snow and wet pavement traction was horrible though!

Thanks for the valuable feedback. I have had the best experiences with tire compared to Falken, Nitto and BFG.

Lucky enough I live in SoCal so only wet 45 days a year at best, this truck will not see snow, that’s what my Transit 4x4 build is for mammoth trips, which actually has AT3 and I haven’t had a single issue with snow traction so I would willing to bet it’s more of a pilot error instead of the equipment.

Pilot error? Coming from the guy that drives maybe 5 days a year in snow?
Hahaha
Best of luck with your California “off-road” tires.

Sooo what was wrong with the set of tires and rim that came with the truck… I am sorry but I have to thumb down on this change… it looks hideous to me… no offense

To eachs own I guess 🤷‍♂️. Absolutely nothing wrong with stock. I change it because I wanted to not “had” to.

Meaning this was a personal choice and there is nothing wrong with the stock setup. Rim change was a complete looks thing (they are also 1 pound lighter per corner than stock) and tires are a performance changed based on what I am used to off my last build.

I preferred skinny tires so that is why I made the swap from the 285/70 to 285/75. I know I a marginal change, on paper is a 1/4”, measured in the 9” wheels is actually 6/10”.

Good grief on all the comments. Funny some people read this as Toyos rule, everthing else sucks!! Appreciate you posting this. I like to see the larger tire size / wheel offset combinations to get a feel on what I should order after I wear down the stock tires. Also the modifications required to accommodate the larger tires. Your truck being Azure Gray was a bonus, I did a late change from Cactus to Azure and feeling better about it which each Azure RR I see. I could care less which actual tires/wheels you selected, just like anyone should, I'll place the ones I want on based on my personal driving conditions.

You’ll be so glad you did. The Azure looks flat in the shade, once it gets some sun on it, the flake lights up. Truly an amazing color.

yeah was posting this as more of a learning experience for anyone else since a lot of folks have been questioning what offset to run and what tire sizes will clea
