My 2010 Ford Escape has the ability to parallel park itself. Never in the 15 years I've own it have I ever used this feature. Can't believe Ford was still equipping the vehicles they build with this worthless feature. About time they dropped it as it adds to repair costs when bumper covers need to be replaced.
As in you do not need to be in the car and dont need to go back to shut it off and lock up?

Is the "only black" confirmed somewhere? I've seen online pictures of supposed 2025 Rangers with body colored keypads. Only black would be horrible.
I'm going by Fords website, when you build out a 2025 it only gives you a black option, The Picture only changes color for the Green- All the other colors it seems to remain black (That could just be pictures though)

My dealer said they could color match it if I wanted it body color. For a price of course. I left mine black and fits great with the Raptor black accents on Desert Sand especially with doorhandles being body color.

I've never been assisted when parking, nor do I even plan on it.

Unless it's gonna let me pull up, get out of the car and go about my business while it parks, locks up and shuts down, it ain't worth it.

I don't disagree and have never used any assisted parking features on any vehicle. I do like the parking sensors of course but too old to trust any of the "auto parking, trailer backup, self-driving, etc". I'm not going to miss the feature on my 2025, just trying to see what the differences are in 24 to 25.
For the most part, I agree. Before owning the RR, I've never had a vehicle that can automatically parallel park itself. That being said, I have to parallel park at least twice a day and I have really enjoyed letting the truck park itself when it's a spot that seems like it's too small, but isn't. It's kinda freaky at first because it does it faster than you expect it to (I found myself wanting to grab the wheel or tap the brakes), but I have become used to it.

Another great spot to put it, which I saw on the Bronco forum was on the inside of your gas door. If you use it all the time maybe not, but that's where I would put mine.

Interesting. I would have just assumed they would be body color matched per the VIN when the dealer orders the part. However, looking at the pictures when building one at ford.com the black doesn't look bad on white either. Hmmmmm. I am getting it installed in a couple of weeks so we'll see what it looks like at that time.

My dealer told me it's only available unpainted and would need to be painted. I'd prefer the black mounted on my door pillar myself.

One would think a dealer installed option would mean that includes painting it as well. If it comes in black unpainted, I might consider that option as well on my white RR.

I wouldn't think to make that assumption at all. Painting them to match isn't a small task.

FWIW, you can have the dealer program it to your truck and just leave it in the glovebox or something. They have a 2-sided tape on them (3m or whatever) and come with an alcohol swab for cleaning the surface before sticking it on. Think about where you want to put it once you have it in your hands, then do it yourself.

Cactus grey is gone, I like the ligher color as I drive for work and keeping cooler in summer months. Not available for the 25's.
My 1970's Chrome package aslo includes mirror caps, handles and fog lights in Chrome. Happy again.
I know that black is "in". As I said, the 1970's called me and just like the look. I'll just have to wait out some time and I'll be in style again. :sunglasses:
Happy Rangering!

Thanks for that info. I have some time to think about it before installation.

i didnt order my RR with the keypad, i rarely used it in the past. It is a dealer installed item so theoretically you could buy it and paint it to match your body color then apply it...
