Interesting. I clicked on the Parking button in the center console and it appears it only lead to a menu that lets you enable/disable the front/rear parking sensors. Did the 2024s have auto-parking capability? Also what do you mean by stubby little e-shifter?

Two shifters are used in the Ranger. A short stubby e-shifter that is not all that intuitive to use, it's approximately 4 inches high. Best description I can give you is it is more like a computer mouse that an old school shifter. It has buttons on the side which puts you on manual mode, the release is on the front side. After a couple of weeks I now can get it into gear mostly of the first try but reverse is still or miss. The long handled shift is not electronic like the short one. Very easy to shift into any gear with out looking. For 2025 it appears only the Raptors get the e-shifter, lucky us Raptor owners . Never heard the reasoning behind the inclusion on Raptor.

Probably just to give the look of high tech. Cant be ahead od the competition with an old school mechanical shifter or hydraulic brakes.

Not the same. The factory one is wired. The dealer installed one is really a wireless remote with batteries that can't be replaced.

I'm just repeating what the sales manager and the salesman both told me 10 days ago that it's got a battery and sticks on. Don't shoot the messenger.

I was told the same thing by my dealer. 2024 factory installed were hard wired and all 2025 are dealer installed wireless units none are factory installed anymore.

They dropped the red color which I thought was a mistake would have loved a Ranger Raptor in the Ruby Red. I seen a ZR2 Colorado in a dark Red and it looked great, if it had a motor like the Raptor I would look at one especially in that Red. I will probably skip this year I wanted a Red Raptor maybe get a 2026 if they bring back the Red. I 'am just not into all the grays and tans, hoping they bring Red back. Its just a lost to me that they dropped Red. The Hot Pepper Red was more Orange than Red which I think is was why they did not sell that many in that color.

You are correct, I was just told that the dealer orders them now and makes sure the battery works and stick it on at the dealership. They also install the bed cover, the spare tire lock, wheel locks, window vents, rocker guards, bug deflector, I am getting these on mine and the dealer told me when the truck has an approximate delivery date then they will order what they don't have in stock and install it all before delivery. There are other items they order from Ford and install that I'm not getting. I am also paying for the FP tune and when Ford makes it available they will call me and I take it in and they install it. The FP tune already has a part number that the 2025 FP tune assigned to it, I have it saved on the Eanger5g forum it was provided to me by LevittownFordParts.com they are one of our sponsors on that forum.

I am also getting some window tint, the Zebart Gold package and spray in bed liner, all that is done at zebart.

2024 were factory wired through a machined hole in the door and painted. 2025 dealer installed one is really a wireless remote with batteries that can't be replaced. If you look at a 2024 model without the factory keypad . Near the fuse box you will find the factory keypad card with the 5 digital code on it . If you had the keypad option installed at he factory they hooked up the keypad to the computer wired through the door and give you the key card when you pick up your car.

But the wired one is no longer a factory installed option, they only offer the disposable battery option.
