I was hoping for colors not some flat primer colors. I was hoping for Rudy Red on the Raptor Ranger or Eruption Green. These flat colors and different shades of gray do not do it for me.
Was also hoping for Eruption Green. That's what I would have gotten if available. I don't personally like the Shelter Green.

Gold/Tan are colors associated with my parents cars. I just can't do it....and Shelter Green's gold-ish tint (especially in the sun) just triggers that PTSD for me. :)

big fan of desert tan colors but if you don't live out west it always seems out of place.

still wish they'd bring the eruption green to the rangers

As a Shelter Green owner, 90% of the time it doesnt have that gold tint. A lot of times it looks black, or just a Master Chief green color. Lighting has to be just right to get the gold to come out.

It is going to sell well I guarantee it. Boring colors sell cars because people are naturally boring and or herd mentality. White, Gray, Black, Silver, Dark Blue, and Red all sell the vast majority of cars. Tan is the new Gold for this generation.

And dealers look at that chart and then order more of those because they are selling, causing more availability which then supplies more perceived demand....And so the cycle continues and the herd grows :)

A bunch of people on the F150 Raptor forum have been begging for years to bring back the color Terrain. I wonder if Desert Sand will satisfy them? I don't care for the tan/beige colors but there is a market for them.

A guy on the Instagram thread who claims to build the bumpers for Ford, says this "desert sand" color is actually Terrain.

Yet another boring color in the primer matte finish category.

...and when there was no meat, we ate fowl and when there was no fowl, we ate crawdad and when there was no crawdad to be found, we ate sand.

You ate what?

We ate sand.

You ate SAND?
100 bucks to the first person to tell me where that's from! (not really, but I'll give you a dollop of Royal Crown pomade instead).

These colors are most likely the most popular because they are the only colors on the lot and most folks purchase from the lot.
Just ask a dealer why all the vehicle on the lot are the above colors and you will get that they are the colors that sell. Gee I wonder why
