FYI
Just found out if you want to monitor in real time what gear your transmission is in. Start your engine with your foot on the brake and press and hold the + button on the console shifter
. It will be displayed on the main screen to the right of the gear selector display.

I think there is another option… something like “manual mode gear shift indicator”…you can find it from the steering wheel options…and if you turn that on, it will display your gear permanently so you don’t have to press anything when you turn your truck on.

I'd like to find this feature. In Sport mode you see the gears display but I'd like to see it in Normal mode as well.

That feature is not available on my Lariat from the dash settings.
I must hit the plus each start if I want to see the gear you are in when driving.

That's the way it is on 5G. If you tap the plus on the gear shift, the gear is shown. But it also allows you to lock out the upper gears, if wanted.

Yes I am aware of that function but thank you as others may not
What I was stating is each time you start the Ranger lariat you must hit the plus to get the gear display. On my F150 it stayed on restarts. There is nothing in the setting to keep it displayed.

Could you indicate what you are turning on in this screen, or do you have to be in S mode to do this? I see you have turn by turn checked on this screen. Is that what your talking about?

The performance shift indicator only puts the orange ring on the outside with a personally set shift point. It does NOT show you a gear indicator in any mode other than Sport(which happens regardless if PSI is on or not). There is still no way to set a gear indicator in the middle like in sport mode when you are in any other mode.

I use Sport mode and have the performance shift indicator on but I don't see the gear indicator? Even though I'm in Sport mode is there something else I need to do to turn it on? Thanks

Can you show a picture of your dash? If you use the toggle by the armrest and put it in sport mode, it will automatically show you the gear indicators in the display. If you are in Normal or any other mode(other than Baja) it wont show.

Strange. I had set the Sport mode and used the R feature to memorize it. My dash said it was in Sport mode. Now I went back and used the toggle to select Sport mode again and memorized it again and now I do see the gear? I must have screwed up something before, Thanks.

No worries, glad you got it figured out. Happens to the best of us.

I have a Lariat and have tried to configure my display like yours. Is this available only on the Raptor or is it found in the settings somewhere? I’d like to have the small icons across the top like yours, or something similar
