This thread brings back fond memories of my Dad removing the 3rd row seat cushions in our '63 Country Squire in order to create a flat load floor.
That behemoth was replaced with a '67 Colony Park with DFRS, this seating arrangement caused many sibling fights!

We used to have a few of those as service loaners, they looked like football helmets to me...

I had a 1984 TRX Tempo 5spd which rivaled a 3 series Bimmer.
Handled like it was on rails! GREAT car!

Does anybody know if it's hard to install the $118 plastic rear seat delete cover shown above ?

Am seriously considering ordering and installing this... Have no use for the backseat but would put bags, rifles, tools and other things in there

I just put in my order for a SuperCab and was hoping to build a flat platform in the back for my 60 lb dog. I just eyeballed it at the dealership and it seemed like it would be big enough but I want to make sure I wasn't way off base. Could someone measure the space between the back of the center console and the back of the cab? I'm also wondering if I could get away with just removing the seat bottoms (and not ordering the trim pieces to remove the seat backs). How much space do the seat backs take up?

I just removed the seat bottoms. I used a semi soft back seat platform, and a "backseat dog hammock". I think I purchased both from amazon, I don't remember, they were purchased 7 years ago. Both were used in the F-150 that I traded in on the new Ranger. My dog has enough room to turn around, lay down, look around. He seams happy back there, and he weighs 110 lbs.

Any chance an boxer and doberman would fit
I'm sure they will fit, but not a lot extra room for two dogs to be comfortable. Depends on how each dog tolerates the other in close quarters. Good luck either way!

I would of gladly opted for the rear seat delete option for my 2020 Lariat SuperCab, but it is only available for the XL series.Must have something to do with the floor covering, XL's feature rubber, while XLT's and Lariats are carpeted.
The rear jump seats on my 20 year old SuperCab have been used just twice in the truck's history. If there is a particular adult which you dislike, have them occupy one of these jump seats.
I did, when the truck was new for like an hour or so, never again !

We had planned to get the rear seat delete option but after some thought realized it would hurt the re-sale value of the truck.

First thing I did when we got our truck home was remove the rear headrests and seat bottoms. Also installed some drawer liner material on the access doors.

What we've learned in the 3 months we've owned the truck is the stock seatbelts are great for holding luggage, coolers, etc in place and the rear seat backs, being padded, tend to hold cargo in place and are good cushioning so you don't hear the cargo banging into a hard plastic cover like you would if you had the rear seat delete.

Clever idea, very clever indeed, I just may copy your setup.
The drawer liner setup is good, the surface tends to grip items in place.
I'd probably go with some sort of carpeting material and use velcro to hold the carpet pieces in place.
My nephew owns a custom upholstery shop here, I'm sure he can finish the carpet piece edges somehow.
On a side note, the image you attached is the best representation of a SuperCab rear compartment I've seen yet,
Those backrests appear to be bolt upright, at least a church pew backrest is angled somewhat, but then again I rarely if ever attend church !

How hard is it to remove the rear seat in a Lariat?
