I'm looking to do the same thing as well. Would really appreciate pics when you get back if you would be so kind! I was also considering 265/70/17s. Any thoughts on those vs what you have? Do the clearance issues on stock rims have more to do with width vs diameter? Thanks!!
That I don't know. I think others have used that size, but I am not sure

Interesting! Only thing I can think is sometimes actual tire dimensions from make to make aren't always the same as the standard. I looked on tire rack.com. and it only shows a 1 mile hour calculated difference between the two sizes so maybe it's all within a margin of error. Thanks again!

I put my daughter’s Bronco 17” Sasquatch wheels with 285/70/17 tires. Only contact issue was full lock rub on the front inner plastic. No issues with the crash bars. Looks like the one plastic would need to be trimmed if putting a leveling kit on.

Here ya go folks. These are 255/75-17 Defender LTXs on my OEM rims. I can confirm that at 80 mph I am off 1 mph on my speedo vs what GPS says I am actually going.

you have pics with all four? Have you been running this setup with the 285's? Would love to hear/see long-term reviews. I've been eyeing some Bronco takeoffs on Marketplace. Most have tires but if they fit with stock suspension, I'd go for those.

I didn’t put all 4 on. Just the front to try turning. I’m currently running SAS wheels with the stock 255/70/17 until I level it or just put 275/70/17 tires on stock suspension.

How much room do you have from the tire to the knuckle? I'm wanting to put a 305/70r17 on my truck

Wow, only off by 1 at 80; going up 1" on the tire diameter I'd have thought you'd be off by more.

BTW that tire size looks great on your ranger!
