Curious if he is actually aware of pricing and what you would get for $50k in a full-size in 2024. A F-150 4x4 crew cab short bed (most popular configuration I see and comparable to Rangers) starts at $50k MSRP with no options. XLs actually have a lot of content these days, but it's not...
Yep. It was a deal-killer for previous gen for me, and probably for this one. Even if need to stop more often for breaks, I much prefer a rest area or scenic site with bathrooms over a gas station. Then, if towing or hauling it would really become too short range.
Sounds like GM and Nissan...
I'm sure for some that's it. For others it's lack of availability. And I think Tacoma just IS the midsize market at this point. So the first real redesign in two decades is big news.
Personally, I like the clean, squared design of new Ranger. I also like new GMs, but too busy on front. Tacoma...
If could ever see the build configurator on '24 Tacoma, I would consider. All 3 new mid sizers seem about equivalent to the point that my favorite differentiator on Ranger is 4' width between wheel wells, and biggest issue is 3 gallon smaller fuel tank - neither of which would almost ever matter...
I'd go for the lightest option as those things can really soak up payload capacity, and are a huge pain to remove/put on. But a canopy of some sorts is very much worth it to me over an open bed, and tonneaus seem like the worst of both worlds.
The XLT 300A is almost perfect to me - I like the standard folding mirrors. Really annoyed the 18 g tank remains without even a larger option. Not really as big a deal as I make it, but I don't see why they couldn't be class competitive ~21 g. The Raptor in particular won't be able to pass a gas...
I was very disappointed to see an 18 gallon tank sticking around - that's main thing that kept me from buying 5G. For road trips and/or towing this is really small. At a minimum, it should be class competitive at 21 gallons. Would be nice if offered an optional larger tank (24-26 gallons).
I like it a lot. It has plenty of creature comforts for me, and latest infotainment system. I couldn't care less about missing power/heated/ventilated this or that.
Things I really like over previous version:
10.4" ground clearance (standard on 4x4?)
38" rear legroom (that's a big jump, almost...
