Installed the Ford Drop-In bed liner. I opted for it over a sprayed in as they needed the truck for a few days and would have to sand the bed.
Didn’t want them sanding the bed for sure. I have no issues with the procedure or the material they use, but sanding a perfectly new bed is out of the question. One mistake in coverage, and you’ve got rust forming. Not so much here in NM but northeast or northwest of here absolutely.
As it specifies, drop-in. All the hook and panels are there. The only thing that needs to be addressed are the panels and lights. They must be cut put either by hand or with a cutting wheel. We opted for by hand and with a razor knife and multiple passes.
Everything attaches with the provided trim pins, panel and light bolts already installed in the bed.
Key panel unfortunately required the use of the FDRS for install. There is no manual owner installation with the Ranger Raptor. Takes all of 5-10 minutes to access and program. However, I’m not paying $2300.00 for the unit, so it needed to be installed by the dealership.
There are alternates DIY devices available but it still requires a subscription to the FDRS software; 2, 7, or 365 days. Isn’t cheap at $50.00 for two days. Cost me that much to have it programmed.
Allows for two codes to be programmed; first code as delivered is on a card which is kept in the glovebox, the other is a personal code that can be quickly programmed by the owner.
It’s a nice feature for any owner. Don’t have your keys on hand, use the code. Need quick access, use the code. It’s independently battery powered, so it doesn’t use the trucks battery source. Works via Wi-Fi signal from the unit.
You can unlock and lock the truck with the keypad. So for those who didn’t opt for the optional feature, you can have it added later. The unit attached with 3M high strength tape. It can be positioned anywhere on the exterior or even under the fuel door.
Nice feature worth the money. There are two available thru Ford Accessories; one for with remote start and one without. So, when you purchase make sure you're buying the correct one.
