You'll know soon enough when it rains.

The GJ Motorport/RPG billet housings with the BD lights in them are where it's at. I'm sure they will make them soon.

Is there a rubber gasket seal on that Morimoto light?

Was it plug and play or did you tap the original brake light wire harness?

I ask because I was going to install a Recon light but that double white clip holding the wire harness connector had no play. I never was able to pull that wire out of the pocket. It felt like it was held down somewhere else above the roof liner.

If I did this I’d consider a light bead of RTV silicone around the external edge. Enough to give you a water seal but only on the outer external edge that you could break it or cut it if you ever had to remove the light.

There isn’t a rubber seal, but the stock light doesn’t have a rubber seal either (both lights have a dual-sided sticky foam backing). I did read that the exposed parts are all water proof even if some moisture got into the back of the light. Very soild/heavy product.

I know exactly what you’re talking about with the white clip. You just have to push it down (I broke it a little) and then you must pull down the head liner and unplug the main FORD clip/wires, then plug in the aftermarket extension. Next you will shove all that back into the head liner and up though the metal roof and out the opening in the third light cavern.

See above instructions to understand…

Did you have to drop your roof liner to get the plug? Still confused on how you wired this based on my experience.

I did not drop the Liner. I just pulled down the middle liner inside the truck (just above the sliding window) enough to fit my hand inside and pull out the wire assembly housing. It wasn’t super easy, but I was able to make it work without pulling out plastic pins or ripping anything.

How does the roof liner seem after putting everything back in place? Saggy at all? Or not wanting to return to original shape? Mine just seems so stiff

It looks 100% normal. You just use any tool (I used a dash pry tool, you could use a butter knife honestly). Pulled the very middle down about 2in (just enough to fit my hand inside and pull out the harness). Then pushed everything back up inside the liner and then the hole in the roof (needed to go back and forth from the truck cab to the back seat). Afterwords I just push up on the liner and lightly folded back into place. No issue.

Were you able to get that double white clip reinserted then? Sorry for all the questions. Appreciate your time explaining your experience.

No worries brother, it’s what we are all here for-

I did get the white clip back in place (but It’s not needed really…) It was a little chewed up from me forcing in down with needle nose pliers, but I was able to fit my hand through the rear sliding window (while I’m in the bed) up into the liner and just angle the white clip back into place.

Hah I pushed mine down with needle nose pliers too. Swore at it a few times in the process. Cheers

You'll know soon enough when it rains.
What does rain and fitment have to do with each other?

I see you just received your RR, hopefully you receive positive information and help with your future questions instead of the useless comments like the one you posted.

P.s it’s rained twice and I’ve washed the truck with no issues with the light.
