Looking under accessories on my ford tracker shows auto start-stop removal. I hope that means option removed.

Having it installed and just having the feature optional to disable using the dash console is easy enough to meet both parties in what they want and not want.

it meets Government legislation and California dumb a.s.s liberal/progressive laws

There is tech or modules for sale that will disable it, at least there is for most Fords.
That was one of the first things I bought and installed on my 2023 Bronco.
I hate that start stop crap.

According to the 2024 Ranger manual there is an Auto-Start-Stop switch which will allow you to cancel the feature, but it will only last 1 cycle, meaning next time you start your car you will have to disable again.

But, as mentioned above there is tech to allow you to disable it permanently. Scan tools that do basic module programming are relatively affordable. While I would not recommend buying one for just a single purpose like disabling auto-start-stop, there are a ton of features that can be enabled and disabled. Another simple example would be the message you get whenever you start your car and you have to press accept on the disclaimer on your screen. Some of those features are buried deep your menu options and some are only available through module coding with a scan tool.

Yes I know this but the other is.. why would you want to go in a disable that disclaimer… it disappears on its own… its also a legal notice to so they don’t get sued because someone messes up and trust their heart and sole on GPS when at the end of the day you as the driver make the final decision…

And yes again know about the auto start/stop tech… my Ranger before hand had it… it never bothered me when it turned on and off when I put on the brake.. and I see that button all the time.. never bothered me to use it.. only time I used it to disable it was because it was super hot outside and the AC was warming up because the engine was off on a long red light.

I can't speak to how Ford is about its warranties, but the biggest thing for me is the fear that I take it in for some warranty service - tranny goes out or something - and they inform me that I have invalidated the warranty by messing with the programming or something. YIKES!

This is exactly why i don’t understand why people would risk losing their warranty over doing this stuff

If it's a real concern you can just flash the system back to default before taking it in and I don't think they're able to tell it was ever modified.

But also this isn't a new thing so there should be plenty of real world examples of people getting warranty work after modifying values with forscan, the tool has been around for a long time.

No I am sure regardless if you flash.. there will most likely be a log of some sort to where it can be flagged as being flashed or something like that

Stumbled upon a Ranger Window sticker from 2020 which lists the auto start-stop. Note the "auto start-stop tech" in the 2020 pic. I think all of our 2024 stickers do not. So that seems to confirm the "Auto Start-Stop Removal" under accessories. Here is hoping! Absolutely do not want it.

They do seem to have the auto stop feature, my 23 did not have it and there was a $50 credit on the window sticker for no auto stop. I just printed the sticker for my 24 and it does note the start stop feature as yours does and there is NO $50 credit for removal.. interesting enough when my dealer sent the printed out order sheet for me to sign last year when I ordered it did show the removal credit at that time. Guess they got the chips for it and the 24’s now have the feature back

Even if they can tell, they'd have to look. The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act protects consumers from having warranty claims denied just because someone made a modification.

Engine Tunes could get someone in trouble, but there is no way that disabling Auto-Start-Stop or enabling Bambi mode with Forscan is going to cause a failure.

I don't have a problem with Auto-Start-Stop, but there are easy ways to defeat it, so I'm not sure why everyone complains so much. A $1 nightlight kills it on 5G rangers. The Auto-Start-Stop Eliminator will remember your last setting, and a Forscan trial is free provided you have a OSB2 interface that works with it.

On my '21, the only change I made with Forscan was enabling Bambi mode, which I didn't mention to my dealer or think they'd care about. I used VCDS on VW I've had in the past. My dealer knew I had it since I told them I used it to prime the fuel system on my diesel Golf after changing the fuel filter. I also showed them that it could be used to allow global windows, which they thought was cool and wished VW would enable from the factory.

What I'm trying to say is that dealers know these things are out there and I don't think they are looking for silly ways to void warranties. Warranty work makes them money.

I hope mine doesn't have it. I don't have the window sticker yet but under accessories on the tracking page it says: "Auto Start-Stop Removal".
My 2017 and 2020 Raptors had it so I'm used to it and most of the time it doesn't bother me too much. What I don't like about it is when parking the truck. When I come to a stop it shuts off before I can put it in park. When I put it in park it starts back up and then I have to shut the truck off.
On my build sheet under accessories it says Auto Start-Stop Removal. Click on it for details and it says this(see pic). My blend date was this past Monday the 25th. My window sticker doesn’t say anything about it having this but there also is no credit on window sticker either. Maybe all the first ones built that were held in prison had them and since then they have removed it. I hope it is removed and I am ok without a credit just to have the annoyance removed.

from what I am seeing in some videos on the RR… you can have the truck memorize your default settings for what mode, how loud the exhaust can be and by the sounds of it… Auto start/stop preferences.. just set where you want them to be then hold down the “R” button to save them to default to those settings each time you start the truck.

On the tracker mine has been showing in production for 11 days. Under accessories it says auto start-stop removal. But on the window sticker it doesn't say anything about auto start-stop. I'm assuming that means that it isn't removed because it doesn't show a credit for the removal. Also it seems that all of the 2024's delivered in the US so far have it.
I was hoping it would be removed. Oh well I guess I'll keep hitting the button to turn it off like I have for the last 7 years. :) I'll probably buy the auto start-stop eliminator at some point.
