UltraGroove Metal Tonneau Cover install issues.

Has anyone installed a Pace Edwards UltraGroove Metal in there Ranger? It seems that the mounting brackets that support the canister in the bed are about an inch too low. Flipping any which way, does not really solve the issue and the instructions are specific about removing the forward tie downs, and reuse existing holes and hardware.

If anyone can share their experience with this, it would be appreciated. Tech support is not available until Monday. I did verify I had the correct kit and instructions are Ranger specific.

So just a follow up. Tony at Pace-Edwards was very helpful and explained that the brackets are for the electric version of the cover. The manual cover is light enough that they are not required. They will be updating their documentation soon. Hoping to complete the installation tonight.

How is the cover working out for you? I've had 2 ultragroove covers on other trucks with great results. I'm torn between syneticUSA and another PE ultragroove for my ranger.

I really like it. I did not pull the bed rail covers and seal them before install so I do have a few leaks. I will be removing it to do that once it warms up a bit.

Looks like the fitment is spot on for every application. Extremely weatherproof. I’ve had them in sleet snow and downpours with a Yakima rack and 225# tent on top for 4 years with no issue. Seems like the Ranger bed requires some attention for weatherproofing. Interested to see what measures are necessary beyond taping up the rails.

How did you route the tailgate gutters?

I have the Digital Twin Developments tail gate seals installed so I had to drill a hole in their seal bracket and make a drain tube. Due to clearance, I had to use a 90 degree fitting otherwise, it would kink in that sharp of a bend. The drain tube is routed through a grommet and "drips" to the outside of the sealed area.

Right now they work great at keeping the water in from the Ford bed rails. I have to go back and seal under the rail caps. They leak like a sieve. From what I can tell, tailgate seal works pretty good. Still need to test properly.

Please share your findings. I’d like to weatherproof the bed in one go if possible!
