RR bed lights

Yeah I just went through every setting in the infotainment system and there’s no mention of bed lights. Sucks because it seems like such an easy thing for Ford to program.

Agreed. this is pretty annoying. why have bed lights if the only way to turn them on is in the cab where you can't see them when you flip the switch. Wouldn't mind an after market switch since there seems to be no way to have it come on with the doors. It's not even part of the zone lighting, which would have been okay if it turned on the bed lights, except zone lighting too is gone from the app and who knows if they will ever put it back.

So while I dont have your “Solution” I have a solution.

I am going to use a trigger relay with a weatherproof momentary.

In the bed, I will add a switch to the panel where the outlets are. I will steal power from the 12V and use it to trigger a relay timer and feed the bed lights circuit. I found a relay on Amazon and it will do the job.

Going to program it for touch on, stay on for 5 minutes, touch while on, goes off.

That’s the plan. The relay is NOT waterproof BUT since I’m going to hang it behind the outlets, I’m going to put it in a balloon.

The question is will feeding the positive side of the light adjacent light up the others? Probably, but some testing will need to happen

Just checked my bed, and there are no lights there… plastic covers only. Don’t remember seeing it as an optional. Normal or oversight during build ?

There is a FORD accessory bed light kit that gives detailed instructions on how to tie into the main harness. Problem has been sourcing the 2 pigtails that come with the kit.

Don’t think so, mine both come on with the switch up by the headlight switch.
