I thought the "priority code" was just a dealer thing and didn't mean anything to Ford.

It is a dealer thing. It matters to Ford in that if they give a dealer an allocation they are going to pull the lowest priority code at that dealer to build if other factors don’t interfere (ex. parts availability, internal ratios, etc).

Ya, I ordered 5/26 too & still not scheduled but hopeful to see delivery by Memorial Day 2024. That would be one year & one day & I don’t feel that is asking too much & certainly should not be an unreasonable expectation.

Same here. When I ordered I naively thought I'd have it around now, Jan/Feb at worst.

Now 1 year is my hope. Getting the product you asked for after a year really shouldn't be too much to ask. I won't be too bitter about it until they overshoot that.

My understanding is that 99 means don’t schedule, but the others are just internal to the dealer and mean nothing to Ford

1-3 can only be assigned by Ford and are given in special circumstances for escalation.

Priority numbers also serve as a mechanism dealers can you to keep you on the hook. They can tell you your order has a low priority code and it’s been prioritized to keep you from shopping elsewhere but they don’t have to tell you that they have other orders ahead or don’t have allocations. It’s a big game. I’ve seen a few comments on this forum indicating it seems to be working on some folks, unfortunately.
