Ranger Raptor Top Speed Test (Hit 107 MPH)

After traveling to an abandoned air field...I was dissapointed to find that the RR is limited to 107mph. Just to feel better, i switched to kilometers on the run back.

What's the speed rating on your tires? The European version is limited at 112 mph / 180kmh (indicated 188 km/h) which is the speed rating of the tires. But in any case, having a little leeway with max rated tire speed and vehicle speed probably isn't a bad idea.

"I Believe I Can Fly" is a song written, produced, and performed by R. Kelly. After working with Michael Jordan on the movie Space Jam, Kelly wrote the song for Jordan. He won 3 Grammys.

What does Diddy have to do with any of this? Also he no longer answers to any other names except “Love” or “Brother Love”.

It'll do that speed on regular gas. Also the Raptor and Raptor R are also electronically limited at 112mph, again, due to the same speed rating of the tires. Not sure what this thread is heading towards. Are we disappointed that Ford won't let the truck go faster than what the tires speed rating is? That's a quick way to get sued...

A chip tuner that can break the ECU encryption should also get able to remove the limiter...but without better tires, what's the point? IMHO, there are better cars to go fast in. Having had to slam on the breaks at 180kmh on the Autobahn, really shows how inadequate the brakes are for high speed runs along with the poor tire grip.

I like to know what I’m working with. To me the top speed is as relevant as any other stat (towing, payload, etc). Speed like you’re saying can be deadly but it can also save your life. Depending on the circumstance.

With my R Raptor I reach 190 km/h(125mph) without any problem, of course gasoline 100+ octane. The tires are BF Goodridge KO2 with index S (180km/h). It is naive to think that something will break with a load capacity of 1250 kg/tire. In addition, the 150 Raptor and Raptor R with the same tires KO2(of course a little wider and with a larger radius) reach 200 km/h without problems.

About 125 is good enough on those 37’s. 130 & upward the f150 rap starts getting a little light

I am also betting it’s the tires forcing Ford to govern it at whatever the tire is speed rated for.
‘I bet that BFG KO3 is likely speed rated to that 107mph.
‘Seems to come into play with all trucks.
‘My TRX is limited/ governed at 117 top speed, also was stated by Ram that it was due to the speed rating on the Goodyears the TRX comes with.
