Finally ordered the blue tow hook covers, since they are back in stock.
Who knows if I will like them, and I realize I may need to cut a little bit off the ends to fit on the Ranger Raptor. These are meant for the F-150.

I like the painted version, too.
I see some oversees markets (UK) also have covers one can get to completely hide the front tow hooks. Kinda defeats the purpose of the hooks, but apparently, they can be removed if needed.

My last weekend project was painting my tow hooks race red.

How hard was it to paint the back? Did you have remove them?
I looked at what it would take to remove the bar the hooks are welded to and decided it would be much easier taping everything up and painting them that way instead. Took about an hour to prep and paint, so not too bad

I like it. I have Code Orange paint coming from TouchUpDirect today to paint the tow hooks, tailgate lettering, and maybe the heat extractors. Since I still have to rust reformer the drive shafts they might get a coat of orange too.
Did you ever get a chance to paint the tow hooks with the code orange? Looking at doing the same to mine, but I have the decals from Rocky Mountain graphics in code orange and want to make sure they are going to be the same…

So just as I did my exhaust tips, I decided to paint my own parts instead of buying new stuff.

I removed my skid plate..

Unbolted the two 15mm bolts and the single 8mm holding the intercooler bushing (each tow hook is the same) and removed both tow hooks

I cleaned up the metal abit but just using degreaser and using soap and water to clean before applying paint

I used VHT gloss red caliper paint. I decided with this cause I heard it resists chipping and it’s pretty thick paint. It cost me $13 at a local Autozone

And results were awesome!

The red looks super bright and it does look pretty thick. I did only 2 coats

What do you guys think?

I’m going a bit of a different direction but did get off my butt and paint them today. The Code Orange paint looks to match the Code Orange from RMGraphics from a replacement letter they sent me and seem to match the interior Code Orange as well. I used primer, color, and clearcoat.

After getting the bronze Method wheels I‘m going to go with copper or light brown bed graphics and tailgate lettering. The Code Orange lettering on the tailgate lettering just wasn’t doing it for me.

Hookproductsusa makes different color silicone tow hook covers. They only offer for the F150, but work. I bought one pair and test fitted front and rear on my RR. The front needs a small amount of trimming. Now I’m waiting for the rear pair to show up. I’m adding silicone to them, so there bonded to factory hooks. No pictures yet. Alternative to painting.

Dana, how do the rear Hookproductsusa covers fit on your RR? Considering a set for an incoming RR.

If I remember right. The rear fit better than the front. I cut some off the front. I used silicone for piece of mind to keep them in place.
