There seems to be a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding about ordering a 2025. So, as a PSA:
1. You place an order either online and it is assigned to a dealer or, you directly order with a dealer. During this process, the #1 thing to talk about with your dealer is "allocation".
2. If your dealer has allocation, you will receive a text from Ford (that will also go to the dealer) with 3 essential pieces of information:
a. Your order #.
b. Your VIN #.
c. Your build date.
The text will have the last few digits crossed out, so just email your salesperson and they will give you the full order # and VIN so you can register at Ford.com. From that point forward, you can track things yourself online:
E.g. I ordered on October 27, received email on December 4 with a build week of February 24 and as of today, that timing is still holding. It would have come earlier, but this was the start of 2025 allocations.
3. If your dealer does not have allocation, you will get an order confirmation but nothing else. DO NOT blame Ford. Blame the communication between yourself and your dealer.
E.g. A person complained last week "I was the first person to order one from my dealer but I haven't received anything from Ford." Yes - that's because you ordered from a small dealer with no allocation.
To summarize - the key is to find a LARGE dealer with few people ordering Ranger Raptors and to then ask them upfront - do you have available allocation? Either then move-on or, ask them honestly when they expect to get allocation for you (e.g. how many people have allocation for already and how many unallocated people are waiting in line in front of you).
Be forewarned, some smaller dealers may not get any allocation or only a few 2025 allocation.
Hope this helps.
