Thought I would share how I discovered the Ranger Raptor and my purchase. Ford was promoting the New York Auto show and had a Ranger Raptor on Live with Kelly and Mark. I typically don't watch this show but my wife had it on, and I happened to catch the segment with the RR. That's how I discovered the RR.
There was a Ford representative on the show that gave the specs for the vehicle, which had me very interested. At the time I was waiting for the Tacoma TRD Pro to be released, but there were several delays to the launch.
The problem was actually seeing a RR in person, and actually finding one available for sale. After weeks of looking without any luck, even compromising on color and options, nothing was available, without a significant mark up. Turns out a parent on my sons Crew team worked at a Ford dealership. I gave her my specs and she started looking. I was informed back in September they ordered the exact truck I wanted, color and options. My only wants were the spray in bed liner and door keypad. The truck was set to go into production when it was tagged for me. About 3-4 weeks later it arrived at the dealer and I was there the next day to pick it up. It worked out perfect. I was able to sell the X5 as no Ford dealer was interested to take it in on trade. So glad to have this over the Taco.
