I've found a new 2024 Lariat which has everything I'm looking for (2.7, FX4). Just wondering if I should be concerned about anything, as it appears to have been sitting on the lot since December. Thanks!

I only test drove one 2024 Ranger and I was not a fan of the brake feel.

Haven't done enough research on the subject but I thought I've seen it talked about on 2024s and they fixed it on the 2025s? Not sure though.

Other than that, hopefully you can negotiate something a little under the employee pricing as it's been sitting for so long (and potentially has a good bit of miles from test drives?).

Haven't seen it in person yet. I'm in Canada, we're not doing the employee pricing thing right now :(

Thanks!

Check the blend date on the window sticker. Make sure it is after Sept 12, 2024. That's supposedly the date that the upgraded J-braces started being installed.

Where do I find that? It says "blend" and above it it has "320241115" - if we remove the 3, that'd be November 15, 2024. I looked up the order:

Confirmed: 9/10/24
Scheduled Week Of: 11/11/24
In Production: 11/17/24
Built: 11/25/24

I'm guessing it's past Sept 12 by all of the above.

What do the upgraded J-braces do?

Thanks!

The braces add strength the bed so you can mount items to the truck bed rail like overland racks, ladder racks etc. Basically anything that mounts to the bedside and extends above it. With that build date it should be already installed. You can ask the dealer to verify it has been installed.

Thanks! Probably not something I'd ever use, but would be good to know regardless :)

I just got '24 Lariat, mine unfortunately was built 8/24 so needs the J-braces. I only found this forum after I bought! oh well, I decided to suck it up, trade in my points and get them installed. Make sure yours has them, and if not I'm guessing you can get them to install for free.
But still liking my '24 Lariat, nicest vehicle I ever had.

My new 2024 XLT bought the last day of March (Truck month savings!) has a November 28th build date. The dealer had to bring it in from 2 states away to get the one I wanted in the color of my choice. I went through it with a fine-tooth comb, even the engine compartment. I would not worry about sitting since December at all.
