I recently installed four Diode Dynamics pod lights on the Raptor. The goal of this install was to keep as much of an OEM look as possible and still get a substantial lighting upgrade for the inclement weather we often experience in Colorado. One set is a spot sport series and the other set is a combo pro series. I still have not had an opportunity to check out how much light they throw down in very dark conditions however, around where I live I have been very impressed with how much output these little lights produce.

The whole installation took about 7 hours due to creating custom brackets that required welding and cutting. We had to cut into the front fascia to create enough space for the lights and remove a section of the plastic portion of the bumper.

I hope the aftermarket comes out with a better solution in the future as I think many people will want an option like this that doesn't require as much fabrication. I am no professional video editor but I hope this helps anyone looking to replicate a lighting setup like this.

I was looking at the plastic OEM insert in this spot the other day thinking this would be a great spot for a light kit. Interested to hear your thoughts on how they perform. What AUX switch did you connect them to? I'd almost want them independently toggleable vs being switched on automatically with high beams

I ended up going to aux 1 for the spots and aux 2 for the combo. Left aux 5 pre wired for the ditch lights as soon as the brackets arrive.

Ford set up the a bundle next to the aux fuse box with those 3. I don’t understand why they didn't make those aux 1, 2, and 3 but oh well.

The backlight feature is tapped into the fuse box and turns on whenever the DRL’s are running.

Looks solid, great work! Diode Dynamics makes an excellent light for the price point.
I think so too. I like how they give you the option of output as well. The price point obviously increases but I will say the difference between the sport and pro series is substantial. I will try to get some video of that soon.

First time I'm seeing this diagram. I'd really prefer they terminate all these wires at the fuse box and let us to run them wherever they're needed.

That would make sense, I do like how you could run chase lights or a compressor in the bed without having to run wires through the firewall though.

Looks really amazing! Hopefully there are some kits out there coming for us less apt to cut into the truck for right now.
