I called and visited a bunch of small dealerships looking to order a 2025. I found 2 with allocations and ordered with the one that sold it to me at invoice. The other was going to sell it at sticker. I really didn't try that hard, so I think they are out there.. or maybe I got lucky.

Is it possible to buy under MSRP if you order from the factory?

Is it possible to avoid port-installed scams er I mean options if you order from the factory?

Thanks.
You're still buying the vehicle through the dealership so you still have to negotiate pricing with them whether it's a custom order or not. You can't order directly from Ford in a way that would let you bypass the dealer and their shenanigans, unfortunately. Whatever the price you agree on, you just want to make sure you have it in writing when you order your vehicle. Also make sure any deposit is fully refundable so you can walk out of the deal, if things change or go south.

A quick carfax search shows 14 within 350 miles of STL at MSRP. Not hard to find, just pitch your color.

i was talking with a friend in the Phoenix area and told him I was looking at the RR in NJ and he said he refused to pay the markup and sent this:

Ford Ranger Local dealer tried to tell me that people are still payng $5k - 10k over for Raptors 1000005539

Had several bad experiences with markups; first was scraping together enough money to get a 2017 Shelby GT350 and going through the whole deal with sales at a dealer in Staten Island and then they spring the, "Oh, so we're adding $15K" nonsense. I walked out and a few weeks later found a used one with 800 miles that had everything I wanted, I think I paid about $8K less than sticker.
Another classic was walking out through a showroom while I was having my ScatPack charger serviced and there was a V8 Wrangler in the showroom. When I laughed at the sticker price and markup, some sales schmuck said something to the effect of, "Guess someone can't afford it." I was shocked that he was that obnoxious but I just replied that I wouldn't pay that money for 4 Wranglers, let alone for one. I told him I'd come laugh at it again at my next oil change interval as I knew it would still be there, and it was.

Stopped by the local Ford dealer today. The sales guy tried to tell me that people are still paying $5k-$10k over MSRP for Ranger Raptors.

I find this somewhat hard to believe. Is this true? I know another local dealer network has 4 of them on their lot(s).
Tell him to pound sand. Order from out of state and take a plane ride and drive it home.

Yeah. I don't think I'll have to go that far. I'm in the Philadelphia area. I'm sure one will pop up within a 50-mile radius at some point.

@Plasmech did you buy a Ranger yet? Stay away from the Tacoma Kool-Aid my friend! They're a salty bunch over there! Making fun of the J Braces while their transmissions are exploding left and right.

Hey @Dingus83

Not yet.

I sat in an XLT 2.7 and a Lariat 2.3 last Friday. Beautiful trucks. The tech is mind blowing compared to my 2009 Tacoma and maybe even to the 2024 Tacoma.

I looked at a Raptor from the outside. To be honest, the Raptor is a bit much for me in terms of styling. I prefer stealth mode, LOL.

I would definitely get the 2.7. That's a no-brainer.

I just can't get a solid answer on whether the cam phasers and the underbody corrosion issues have been corrected yet. Both bother me.

Cam phasers are not changed. Drive shaft rusting also not changed.

Well, that's not good.

I mean, shit just shouldn't be rusting out. And there should be a bulletproof fix for the cam phasers by now.

Thanks for letting me know.

The drive shaft is fine, you can paint it if you really are worried about as some have done.

Cam phasers are also kinda whatever. If they break they are going to break early. If you are very worried about after 30k miles, get the extended warranty which will cover it for however long you buy it for. The warranty can be bought at any time and canceled any time.

So outside of it being annoying, there are suitable work arounds.

Thanks for the reply.

Do we know if the cam phaser breakages are caused by the design or by a quality control issue? I wonder why Ford has not addressed it yet.

I was going to ask if Ford offers a 10-year warranty, and how much it costs.

Thanks.

10/100,000 through Grainger is $2,630 with $0 deductible. You can go all the way to 175,000 warranty. You can also just do powertrain for $1,300. $50/100/200 make price go down.
Also when you buy a new Ford you receive FordPass points totaling around $220 iirc that you can use on the warranty. It’s Ford backed good from Long Beach to Long Island.
