Just traded by XLT for a Lariat. Wanted the leather and all of the other upgraded “stuff” that comes with the Lariat package. Has anyone played around with the interior cab ambient lighting? The only ambient lighting I can get to work is in the front part of the cab on the console and on the driver and passenger side doors. There are not lights on the floor areas and there is no ambient lighting kicking in the back seat area. Is this normal? I have done some on line research and everything I have found says there should be back seat and floor ambient lighting. Anyone run into this? Many thanks for your help!!

On the Australian Rangers, there's no ambient lightling on the rear doors or floors. The tops of the rear door cards are also fully plastic rather than the soft touch material that's on the front doors.

This is nothing unusual too a lot mainstream car manufactures do this (cost savings is my guess) - my previous car was a 2020 VW Tiguan R and it did the same, nice and plush up front (soft touch, ambient lighing), but basic as out back (hard plastics and no ambient lighting)

The lighting you found is all there is in the Ranger. Ya wish there was more but really don't see the need since I'm always up front driving lol

There is no back seat or cup holder lighting on the Ranger now. You can add it fairly easily with factory parts from other Ford vehicles. There are some good pages on the Bronco 6G page showing how it can be done.

Thx to both of you for responding so quickly! I spent about 2 hours yesterday trying to figure this out. I was hoping for more from Ford with the Ranger package but I guess not. I had an 2021 F150 Lariat that I traded for the Ranger XLT and really missed the ambient lighting. That was one reason (not a huge one) that I just traded up for the Ranger Lariat to get more stuff on it like the lighting. I have my grand kids in the back seat a lot and it would be great to have the lighting. I guess I could add something? Do you know if Ford makes a lighting addition kit that you can add more lights if you want? Many thanks to both again for the comments. LOVE this forum!!

First picture is under front seat in the backseat footwell. Those pictures are to show you what can be added easily with Ford parts. I did this on my Bronco Raptor and then took them out and put them on the Ranger Raptor.

Another solution for some rear seat lighting is to plug one of these usb A lightd into the rear of the center console. This is what I did and it works flawlessly for adding some character. Plus they are RGB and turn on and off with the truck.

Th Stumpm2! I didn’t see your response earlier. Great idea checking out the Bronco setup. The lighted cup holder and floor lighting is great! I’ll reach out to the Dealership I got the truck from and see if they can run down the part numbers for the add on kit(s).

Do you by chance have the part numbers for the Bronco parts that you moved to your Ranger? I thought I would run down that option.

I posted this earlier on the forum. You will have to research part numbers as I did this over two years ago on my Bronco and just moved parts over to the Ranger.

Directions and parts are at Bronco6G Forum using a wire harness from JHForman. https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/color-changing-ambient-lighting-using-ford-oem-parts.42484/ I just did single color LEDs and also did the rear seat footwells.
