Anyone know what this space is between the lights and sunglasses holder? It’s in my 24 Ranger xlt and my brother in law’s 24 Ranger raptor. Only thing I can thing of is some type of vent for wiring in the console

I don’t know anything about this piece specifically but having multiple microphones is pretty common place in consumer electronics these days (for beam-forming, to help filter out background noise), so just because there’s another mic above the driver’s seat doesn’t rule out these also being microphones for the same system.

My 2015 F-150 had microphones and motion sensors in this area (could be wrong on that one) that was a part of the vehicles security system. Once locked, if there was motion(?) or sound inside the cab, the alarm would go off. I'm wondering if there is a similar system in these trucks.

On the other hand, the F-150 had a toggle that would show up on the dash each time i turned the vehicle off that asked if I wanted the regular security system or the advanced system, basically asking if I wanted the sensors inside the vehicle on or off (I ran into a gas station one time with my dog in the car and left the advanced system on and came out to my alarm activated). I haven't seen a message like that show up in the Ranger.

Saw an ad from Australia that had accessory switches for fog lights and etc mounted here. everything was pre-wired.

That's the place where the AUX switches are in the Ranger Raptor.

This is the area that pushes out air to keep your head warm during the winter.

without pulling the headliner down, we can only speculate.
my contribution would be a location for sensors related to heat and ac. such as humidity or cabin temp
barring that, its probably air vents for the gremlins sure to appear down the road.
