Hi folks... been bouncing through Fords for years. Traded in my '25 Explorer ST for a new '24 Raptor Ranger few days ago...

I'm retired and always looking for info and to see what everyone's accomplishing.

Congratulations on your retirement and recent purchase. I love this vehicle and it is a real swiss army knife as far as uses. The modes make a difference and the R button can be your fun friend. Love being able to haul stuff and a$$. I saw an article where they called it the Michigan Miata. Made me laugh and i get the parallel given I also own an 02 Miata. Enjoy!

Can I ask why the trade so quickly. Actually, still trying to decide between the 2.

Cause the '25 ST was great in al but myself as well as a lot of others had mechanical issues.
The one that drove me nuts was a noise coming out of the left front strut area. Had to slam heads to get them to want to replace it. When I first told them, they had the in stock within a few days. Now they are on back order for over a month. I can't deal with the stupid nonsense Ford was putting it through. Nobody could hear the noise. Not even their noise sniffer whatever it's called. Then call me effing superman because I can hear it. Heightened senses. I'm like a bloodhound and smell things before the dog including, but no limited to... blood!

I went through nothing but aggravation with my new '21 F150 poweboost at the time. Took forever to get that fixed because an over the air update bricked the computer. Great truck otherwise...
Just don't feel like driving 25 miles one way then have them tell me I have to leave it and never have loaners.

Eventually, I bought all the harnesses and computer software to program and update the computers myself.
I was almost ready to ditch Ford all together... But my boy would never talk to me again, lol.
Been a Ford guy for decades but Ford is really getting bad with their practices.

This RR better be my last one cause my wife said, "No More, you're keeping it and liking it..."...
LOL, till next time bahahhahah. ;)

Thanks... For sure. Bad knees and big pickups are rough on me. At least this is easy to get into and not screw over my joints.
Was out in the snow today and now it looks like hell. lol.

How does the power compare to the ST and Powerboost? My wifes Powerboost is pretty quick. I think Ranger is still not at full potential even with the Ford Performance cal. It's probably due to torque management for the 10R60.

Not sure of your comparison with the PB beings a full-size pickup. My reference to that was how much a pain in the arse it was to get the computers working. If I recall, the pb has like 36 modules. ST not that many and have to wait for decent weather to go out and see what the raptor has. To effing cold. :)
The ST also has the 3.0 for 400 hp but yes, geared differently. The raptor has the 3.0 twin turbo and while it is fast, (and eats gas). The ST was awesome. Fast as hell and even the local PD were a lil jealous, I think. ;) They have interceptors which I believe are like 430 hp.

Amended: 24 Raptor Ranger has 31 modules...

I had the same problems with our F150. I bought the Mongoose and spent about 8-9 hours updating it. It now updates OTA. I should have left it alone after updating the first round and left OTA off. The last few updates added lane keep every time cruise control is engaged, the running boards are noisier and run too long. The tailgate takes multiple pushes to get it to open where it used to open with just one push. Scared of updates breaking stuff now.
The Mongoose also works well on the Raptor.

Thanks for the review as I’ve considered an Explorer st as well. My 20 non st was a nice car but hardly trouble free. I’d have thought they’d have it perfected by now even with the refresh. But apparently not.
