Crafting this gives me zero joy. For perspective, I have worked with or for Ford for the better part of 30 years. I have sold, provided financing, managed sales, been a dealer vendor, you get it. I have also purchased over a quarter of a million dollars in new Ford products in the last 8 years.

On May 26th 2023 I ensured that my order for a new Ranger Raptor was in within the first hour of the order bank being opened. You will note that my “status” bar says that my order was 24OCT23. I’ll provide detail on that first screw up upon request.

My research is indicating that the first batch of Ranger’s is being held for “quality control” while Rangers ordered later are being delivered to customers.

The question now is: how can a company, that has led the industry in recalls over the past three consecutive years, manage to dig out the faulty vehicles and give the long-suffering order makers spending north of $57K the experience they expect and deserve after the wait and price?

I guess the “tough” part about Ford is the buying process and how the experience is best described?

If it makes you feel any better, a lot of us are in the same boat. I actually placed my order a day after your “stated” order date. I read and see where you placed the order opening day, but I ordered 10/25/23. We have the same build week, 02/12/24. With the exact same in production date 02/16/24. The only change to my order is mine went to built on 03/27/24. But honestly nothing else has changed. Ford chat doesn’t have anything, the salesman doesn’t have anything and he’s getting tired of me bothering him and that’s only once every couple weeks. All I’m being told is ramp 59 in Dearborn waiting for shipping. This is my first, only and last order I’ll ever place with Ford.

I'm glad someone is acknowledging the truth. Order placed 5.29.23... went into production on 1.22.24 and has remained there. On top, my dealer was told the truck would arrive on 2.15... in preparation, I sold my car a day before. Truck never came... dealer is in the dark... Been sitting in a loaner ever since.

As a consumer, I think I am entitled to know exactly what the QC hold is being issued for. Its absurd that for damn near 60K we are kept in the dark completely, meanwhile, customers who placed orders in March of 24 are sitting in their trucks right now.

I'm sorry, dudes can pretend there's nothing wrong, or that we are "whining" or being impatient.... but this is unnacceptable on every level and could easily be remedied with some very basic and transparent communication from Ford. It should be up to the consumer at that point if they want to go through with the purchase if the QC hold was for something serious.

your 1st mistake is thinking you are entitled to anything as a consumer here. Your remedy is walking away from the deal at any time before completing sales contract and taking delivery. Most basic incorrect assumption is this "could easily be remedied with some very basic and transparent communication from Ford." It always looks easy from the outside looking in. There are other vehicle choices out there for you if this is unacceptable to you. Welcome to reality :explode:

I am continuing to be patient - as this whole thing has been an exercise in patience.

But I agree with your sentiments. A lack of clear and honest communication from Ford has been my biggest complaint with the ordering process.

I'm excited that the wait is almost over, but when "next time" comes around I will not put myself through this again.

Similar boat. Order placed 5/27 by my dealer that is less than 3hrs from the plant.
Blend date of 3/12, pizza tracker still says "In Production" and my dealer confirmed it is built and sitting in a QC hold. It is sitting in Canton, MI as of 3/26.

It is all puzzling. I work in the industry for another OEM, and know many people (employees & customers alike) that have experienced similar delays for unknown reasons. I do find it curious that random people have been able to pick one up at random dealer lots, showing that not every allocation nationally was spoken for. It is also a bit annoying that certain YouTubers get theirs before the rest of us.

Ultimately, this purchase is a choice, so while bummed, I am not angry with Ford. They don't care. If I bail, they'll still sell the unit. When it arrives, it arrives. From everything I have read, I am confident I will be happy with my truck.

Disagree 100%. Communication is key and far simpler than people think. I work in high level advertising and PR and can say with complete certitude that they could easily communicate whatever the issue is if they chose to do so. Also, there is such a thing as consumer rights, it's not an "entitlement". I dont't think it's out of the ordinary to expect that a consumer paying 60K for a product be informed about said product. You see examples of this every day in legal disclaimers, back-of-label inregients lists, and lemon laws, just to name a few.

With all that, I understand I can "walk away" at any time, and still just might. But, surely you aren't saying that a massive miscommunication from Ford corporate is totally inexcusable are you?

Hey captain obvious, I was reviewing my post attempting to find the part where your plebeian opinion was requested. Now go back in your mom’s basement and come back out when you have something helpful/relevent, (look it up). Read:FU!🤣
