After what felt like an endless marathon of phone calls and emails, the saga has finally come to an end! I filed a lemon law claim, and a few weeks ago, Ford came through with a reimbursement. Not long after, I picked up a brand-new Ranger Raptor.

For those following along, thank you for your advice, support, and shared outrage during this ordeal. If you’re in the middle of a similar battle, keep fighting the good fight—it is possible to come out the other side with a win (and hopefully, your sanity intact).

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to enjoy my new truck and put this whole ordeal in the rearview mirror—where it belongs!

Glad it worked out for you.

What amazes me and is not just unique to Ford, is that their process to address issues like this is so inflexible that they have to spend what would be gobs amount more money processing a Lemon Law claim rather than just drill down and get the parts and know how in place to repair it right in the first place.

Here's my assessment, ALL CAR COMPANSIES SUCK when it comes to stuff like this. We have a 2018 Mazda CX-9 that had a recall for bad fuel pump (made by Denso, who sold 2 million faulty pumps to several big mfg's like Ford, Subaru, Mazda, Honda etc.).

I started having issues with losing power on the highway, intermittently, took it into the dealer as we were still waiting for replacement pumps for the recall under warranty. They did a fuel pressure test and claimed it was fine, just ignoring the issue all together.

They failed to realize you can generate static pressure on a closed system but then have inadequate pressure to the HPFP at the rated flow. So, the test was more based on convenience just to see if the unit was somewhat functional vs. actually performing properly.

They just gave us the run-around, so I did everything I could to optimize the combustion process by running 93 Octane, fresh air filter, fresh oil change, new plugs etc. and kept it running until the pump arrived and was replaced (which fixed the issue entirely).

Dealer simply didn't' have a solution and basically gave us some BS and said, "go away until we have the new pump". Problem for us is that the CX-9 is one of two daily drivers we depend on, so that wasn't a good solution.

It's frustrating for sure when dealers just give you BS and don't really make an effort to provide a real solution or they take their time on something critical that you depend on. I kind of get it that when the customer does something DUMB to their car and it's their fault, they may not be in a rush, but when it's the mfg.'s fault? It SHOULD be all hands-on deck!

So, it's not just Ford, it's ALL OF THEM! They ALL SUCK!

Agreed. Or run less you get legal involved. Once the lawyers start serving papers...they tend to sit up and listen. But aside from those two things, far too many simply don't have any moral foundation to do the right thing simply because it's the right thing to do.
