So this will be my second oil change at 5k today. Did my first at 500.

First change, filled with 7 Qts, looked good. Started up, no problems. When I checked back a week later, oil was near or at the fill line. I checked for leaks and couldn't find any so I topped off(1 qt) and checked every week since with zero loss.

Today, I did the same thing and thought nothing of it so I did 7 qts again thinking maybe I was mistaken last time. Filled with 7 qts - checked and found it in the middle of add and full, primed, started up for 5 minutes then I let it sit for 5 before I checked again. Back at the add. Added exactly one more qt, now I am at the full mark.

What am I missing here because I thought it was a 7 QT capacity?

I guess so. I couldn’t find anything in my little supplemental guides that came with the truck so I used the web as well. I wonder if anyone else is seeing this on their RR?

I wonder if anyone else is seeing this on their RR?Funny, now that you mention it when I did my first oil change at 5000 miles, I had the dealership do it at 1000 miles, I definitely added more than 7 quarts. Probably was an additional ½ quart and thought that was a little strange… check the dipstick twice, which, if we can all be honest is a real pain in the a__, even for someone at 6’ 2” but that can be for another post… And figure the dipstick is the dipstick and it doesn’t lie so I went about my day.

Yeah, I'm 5'7" so I look like I'm checking oil in an F-250.lol. Maybe I'm just overthinking this. I asked the AI Grok and added some of this conversation in. It basically told me to stop being a pansy and filled her up. A bit sassy but I get it.
