My daughter has a 19 ranger with less than 50k miles. She did park the truck on an incline nose down. She started having intermittent misfires and one check engine light. Dealer wanted way too much to replace so I did the work myself. I was shocked they didn't cover it under 5/60. It is obviously a design defect. New boots and plugs. I did use penetrating oil in the well overnight and they came out pretty easy for what they look like. Not sure on the engine cover thing, but I did put a lot of dielectric grease on the boots. Would certainly recommend changing them out if you guys haven't done so already. Crazy!!

I know. I think it really is about the most common vehicle stored position. If outside and nose down, you’re going to have issues.

The lariats specifically had an engine cover to eliminate this and mitigate the direct injection noise.

Yea, I read about that but I am doubtful that really fixes the problem. I read the TSB.

Worth noting you posted this on the 6th gen ranger forums, but you're talking about a 5th Gen. You might have better responses on the 5th gen forum --> www.ranger5g.com

Is a problem 19 up from what I understand so I thought here would be more appropriate.
