While getting a quote online with Granger, it gave the added option for "Interior / Exterior Lighting" --The interior/exterior lighting option provides repair or replacement for electrical failures on incandescent bulbs, halogen bulbs, High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps and LED lamp assemblies.--

Why wouldn't this be part or the regular warranty?
Has anyone else paid for this option?

Thanks

My guess is that its because historically the light module (light bulbs) was considered a consumable/wear item and thus excluded from warranty.

Now days the lighting shouldn't be a wear item, but the standard warranty language hasn't caught up and they can make more money selling an add on.

I didn't buy it on my extended warranty.

Me neither. I also didn't purchase the extra light add on package add on when I bought my extended warranty. I just realized I don't think I even received a confirmation email receipt when I bought my warranty. Does any one know how to check warranty status through Ford? I know the old Ford app had a warranty status section but the new one doesn't?

I read somewhere that the LED headlamps were not included in the standard warranty and I guess with the new ones you can't just change a bulb. I guess the whole headlamp needs to be replaced when the LED light goes out. I guess it's something like $1500 to change it.

Avg LED lasts 100000 hours so you would be good for 11-12 years of running it 24 hours a day for that long. :p

You should be able to see an entry for Ford Protection Plan under rewards history in the app. No points, but a tier activity.

I got it with the Grainger plan. An extra 100 bucks. I hear a tail light will put a big dent in 2000.00
Don't have to worry for 7 yrs 125k miles
It ain't the bulb that will get you. It's those radar sensors and other technology

I also added the lighting option to my extended warranty. Was like $100 or so. I was told a new headlight was $2200 if you had to pay for it. Yeah the bulbs SHOULD last a long long time, but you never know. Seemed to me like a small price to pay for peace of mind.

I got my confirmation from [email protected]

Usually from Maria and she's pretty fast at responding. I'd shoot her an email
