This is an ongoing issue with almost all corporations - e.g. they seem to only be in business to serve themselves and their executives while caring very little about customers. Customers are a nuisance, a necessary evil if you will, and nothing to concern the company with. From banks, to insurers to starbucks to car companies, none of them really compete on the merits of developing, nurturing and keeping actual human customers happy and well taken care of. Its long past the time for the pendulum to swing back from this state of affairs to something a tiny bit more customer centric. Ford, you are just another in a long line of companies that really just don't seem to give a S*** about customers anymore. Also, Happy New Year's everyone! :)

I was just thinking about that yesterday when I was reading about Ford putting the gas particulate filter on the 2025 gas Mavericks. The first but I'm certain not last vehicle to get the latest nonsense that the customer has to deal with and pay for. Today's gas vehicles put out minuscule emissions and they're still trying to get that last grain of sand off a beach. The customer is their last concern these days. Not only does it reduce HP but the customer gets stuck paying for yet another unnecessary device, put up with the hassle when the truck goes into regen mode, and pay thousands when the filter needs replacement. There's fewer and fewer vehicles I'd be willing to buy anymore. I've already drawn the line on those facial recognition big brother systems some have put in vehicles. As if all the lane change, lane departure, auto braking systems weren't enough. And they're trying to get alcohol sniffing systems mandatory too. If you can't figure out how to control a vehicle then don't attempt to drive. All these systems do is make people dependent on them and further degrade any skills they once had which is I think their goal so they can get fully autonomous vehicles and they control our movements.

Yep you would think that after a hundred plus years in Business that they would have the Customer Service dialed in.
Threats and bribes from the Feds using our tax money put an end to any concern of what the customer wants. It's what the government and special interests want. Example, having your car spy on you and give that info to the insurance companies. I even read about a plan that Ford and other companies floated to declare their vehicles proprietary technology making it illegal for anyone but a Factory authorized tech to do any maintenance. So I guess they want it so it's not our property, we're just renting it. Kind of like our homes are not really ours. They belong to the government. If we don't perpetually pay property taxes it will be stolen from us. Must be Working towards that "You will own nothing and be happy" plan of the WEF that I keep hearing about.
