EcoFlow Delta 3 + Eco Flow 800W Alternator Charger

Not sure if this is the correct forum entry to put this... I'm going to ask about the in-bed power, so I figure "Exterior Mods" is as good a place as any..

So, EcoFlow has a decent Black Friday bundle deal on their new Delta 3 + 800W Alternator Charger that I want to use for camping.
The "cool" feature of the Alternator Charger is that you can hook it up to the battery and it will charge the powerbank while you drive to the next campsite.

But, I was thinking.. Do I really need it with the in-bed 400W outlet?
I read that it will power while driving. So, the only downside of using the in-bed power is that it doesn't charge quite as fast. Right?

Any I thinking about that right? Does anyone have any thoughts on that?

Not really what you asked for, but I did just buy the Delta 3+ to replace my aging APC UPS + get the ability to unhook it and take it with me camping, etc. I can confirm it works well as a UPS and the app is quite nice. And, unlike APC, you don't have to pay anything to be able to tell what's going on with the unit as a UPS. So, I'm a fan, at least of the unit itself. I like the idea of that 800W charger, but not sure if it would be necessary, as you pointed out, with the 400W outlet in the bed.

I did just pull the trigger on purchasing the unit only.
I'm betting it will work just fine. It seems like a really awesome power bank. I'm excited to test it out.

Its super light compared to the old APC UPS with its lead acid battery. I think you'll like the unit as its well designed and super easy to move around with its little molded-in handle.

Best to test out the in bed plug. I found it doesnt work for all power supplies given the poor quality inverter. I have a renogy dc-dc charger (50A) that charges my lifepo4 “house” battery from the alternator and its been great just as an aside. Ecoflow one seems very cool though

On my recent trip I had a hard time getting my Delta 2 Max to charge off the 110v outlet in the bed. It would often just click and continue to discharge with my cooler plugged into it. The cooler itself had no issues charging off 110v or 12v from the bed's power points.

I have the 800w alternator/charger but didn't have time to install it before the trip. I'll be installing it sometime this spring as I likely won't need it till then. I'm going to have to find a way to run the cables from the unit I'll install in the cabin back to the bed's power points. I made a slide out for the cooler, Delta 2, and Wave AC/Heater that utilizes that spot for power.

The interior and exterior 400W plugs will not charge the EF power stations because the inverter used in the truck is a modified sine wave unit.

I just installed the alternator charger on my truck and can say that it is an easy install and charges my delta 2 at 800W just idling the truck.

Where in the cab did you end up installing the charger?
Did you have to take off a bunch of trim or just the sill plate and just fish the wire underneath?

I mounted mine behind the rear seat just above the jack location. I attached it to the carpeted piece back there. Still waiting to see if that holds up over time. The power station cable can sneak under the bottom seat cushion and be stored in the bin down there.

The power cable runs from the battery, through the firewall near where your left knee would be, the rest just ran under the sill plate. There is plenty of room for the power cable.

Just bought the Ecoflow Delta 3 Plus and considering purchasing the Alternator Charger. Need to run cable to the camper's bed. Has anyone tried to run power cables through the bed's drain plugs. I could run it through the outlet panels but rather not.
