Don’t buy Rocky Road Sliders

Might have missed that day in engineering school, but I’ve never heard of that specific alloy.

I smelled snake oil after I read “trailer hitch steel” about 5+ times in their product description…

I will say that’s how my Zroad step/sliders for my 2-door bronco mounted and can confirm they took the full weight of my car more than once.

100% you were duped and they look like a shady operation.

I order the rock sliders from this company. The style with no step. What am I missing? What is wrong with this picture? Have you notified the company? Should I reach out to the company? Mine are still in production.

I do not have the sliders, i'm just saying for strength you would want a frame mounted slider vs a body mounted slider. That is what Icemilkteaa is also saying in his post.

There is a company out in Kalamazoo mi that has sliders for the 19-23 Ranger...I'm hoping that they are tooling some for the 24 and up

i called rock road outfitters about this picture. I order a set myself and I am just waiting for delivery. They said that there designed to be mounted on they body. That location is build with reinforced metal to protect the body. The location is the strongest point to mount the rock rail. During the RND the lifted the truck off the ground with zero issue. If you look how skinny the frame is right there the connection points wouldn’t be half as sturdy as it currently is with the body mounts. They guy couldn’t be blowing smoke up my ass but he is guaranteeing it with the warranty that comes with those rails. I am going to keep my order and roll with it.

they also advertise no cutting of metal or plastic, but in order to get the pinch brackets on.. you’d have to drill through your pinch weld. Something I’m not comfortable with.

Good luck with them... i hope they work for you, but i wouldn't rely on them to take full weight...the sliders probably wont give but the sheet metal its mounted to will most likely crumple under the weight, again i really hope they work for you.
