Just noticed this on the rubber piece (not sure what it is called) next to the windshield. It is the same on both the driver and passenger side. Looks like water spots but I've never seen this happen on any vehicles I've had in the past. I tried cleaning it and also put some Armor All on it but didn't make a difference. Any recommendations on how to restore it and protect it from happening again?

It is most likely a reaction in the plastic to chemicals. Have you washed your truck, what did you wash it with? What olefordguy suggested should remove it. There should be some other stuff you can easily google for black plastic trim to seal it and stop it in the future.

Have that on mine, also. I think its water spots or splash from the wiper fluid. I was able to clean most of it up with some chemical guys synthetic quick detailer and a microfiber. I did notice the material is very soft and it can scratch easily.

Mine did this after using the no spot rinse at my local car wash. Armor-All cleaned it up.

Was your truck one of the early production runs that then sat on the lot in Michigan for months on end?

The original truck I ordered sat on the lot in MI for 6+ months and when it did finally show up at the dealer it looked exactly like that. Paint had all sorts of issues as well.

Just another example unfortunately of the lazy UAW workers taking “pride in their work”

Yep, built 4 MAR, not delivered until 5 JUN. Not as bad as some folks but way longer than it should have been.

Looks like the same thing happened to me. Has anyone addressed this issue with Ford?
